CID Arrested A Criminal And Army Captain With Arms And Ammunutions
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID)Officers had arrested a most wanted notorious Criminal /underworld gang member along with an Army captain in possession of a haul of arms and ammunition whilst hiding at a Hotel near the Gregory's lake in Nuwara Eliya. .
With the
suspects the CID Officers had taken into custody a T-56 gun,108 live ammunution ,Two pistols and another haul of live ammunition in possession of them.CID is conducting an investigation on them.
A Luxary Bus Was Destroyed Due To A Fire
A Jaffna-Colombo Fort bound Luxary bus was completely destroyed after catching fire whilst travelling at Karikattiya area in Madurankuliya (North western province) yesterday(29).
No one was injured due to the incident and the reason behind the fire has not yet been revealed .
Former MP Vijayakala Maheswaren Was Hospitalized Due To An Accident
The former Parliamentarian Vijayakala Maheswaren and two others were injured and hospitalized after the Van they were travelling in from Jaffna to Colombo was colliding with a tree at Mangala eliya area in Chilaw yesterday (29).
The Former
MP Maheswaren had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Chilaw base Hospital with serious injuries it has been reported .
Chilaw police are conducting an investigation on the incident .
Wild Life Officers Arrested Four Persons Over Attempting To Rob Animals Snd Tree Parts In Sinharaja
The Wild Life officers of the Neluwa area (Southern Province ) had arrested three Iranian Nationals and a,Sri Lankan over atrempting to transport live /dead Animals and Tree parts belongs to Sinharaja Rainforest illegally at Neluwa,area last evening (28).
The Four suspects were remanded until 05 th of July after been produced before the Udugama Magistrate Court .These suspects had attempted to transport above items without obtaining a valid license according to officials.
Wild life officers had also taken into custody the Van used to transport the suspects .
Three Persons Arrested With 30 Fake Notes Of Rs..5000
Akuressa Police had yesterday (28) arrested three persons in posssesion of 30 fake notes of Rs.5000 according to the Deputy Inspecor General Office in Southern Province .
The suspects who are residents of Maramba and Ahangama,Goviyapana areas in Akuressa were caught when one of the suspects had attempted to purchase a good from a shop through Rs.5000 note it has been revealed.

A Sri Lankan Airlines Flight Left For Japan Returned To Katunayake Due To A Technical Fault
A Sri Lankan Airlines flight which left for Narita International Airport from Katunayake International Airport with 301 passangers and Flight crew on board had returned to the local Airport due to a Technical fault last night (28).
After flying 2 hours and 25 minutes the pilot of the plane had identified there's a fault on folding the wheels of the Plane and taken steps to return to Katunayake International Airport.
The Airplane is belonging to A-330-360 Catagory of Airbuses and it's one of the largest Airbuses belonging to Sri Lankan Airlines it has been reported.After returning to Katunayake Airport the Passangers were sent to Japan on a,different flights .

Prices Of Litro Gas To Be Reduced From 05Th Of July
The Prices of Litro Gas will be reduced again on 05 th of July according to the Chairman of Litro Gas Company Muditha Pieris.
This will be fourth time that the Litro Gas prices are going to be reduced this year.The Price of 12.5 KG Litro Gas Cylinder has been reduced by Rs .452 recently .
Twelve Persons Were Injured Due To Bus Accident
Twelve persons including a pregnent female were injured and hospitalized after a Private Bus travelling from Colombo to Rakwana area with high speed colliding with a Bus,Few Motorcycles and a Van parked on the roadside at Salgahayata Junction in Pussalla,Rakwana this noon(26).
The injured were admitted to the Ratnapura Teaching hospital for treatment and the condition of five of the injured including the pregnent female is serious the hospital sources stated .All the vehicles collided with the bus were serously damaged it has been reported.
Kuruwita Police had arrested the Bus driver over the incident.
Annual Credit Card Interest Rate To Be Slashed
The Annual Credit Card interest rate is scheduled to be reduced by 2 percent with effect from 01 st of July the Central Bank has announced.
Accordingly the current Annual Credit card interest rate of 36 percent will be reduced to 34 percent with effect from 01st of July .As the Deposit interest rates has been reduced consumers had recently complained that the Annual Credit card interest rates are very high.

A Three Wheeler Driver Was Killed Due To A Gun Shooting
A 56 year old Three Wheeler driver was shot and killed by two unidentified gunmen at Ambalangoda Town ( Southern Provimce ) midnight yesterday (24).
The deceased who had died on the spot due to the incident was identified s a resident of Randombe area inAmbalangoda.The two gunmen who had fled away from the scene after the incident believed to be have used a pistol to fired the gunshots .
The cause behind the gun shooting incident has not yet been revealed . Ambalangoda Police are conducting an investigation on the incidnt.
Two Officials Attached To Awissawella UC Arrested Over Accepting A Bribe
Bribery Commission officials had yesterday (24)arrested the acting secretary and the Income officer of the Awissawella Urban council over accepting a bribe of Rs.400,000 from a female trader .
The two suspects were arrested whilst accepting a bribe of Rs.400,000 from a female to speed up the process of handing over the ownership of a trade stall at the new Trade stall scheme in Awissawella bus stop it has been revealed.
The suspects are due to be produced before Colombo Magistrate Court.
Police Had Arrested 12 Youth At A Facebook Party
Police had arrested 12 youth in possession of Nsrcotic drugs during a raid carried out at a facebook party held in a hotel at Gurugalla area,in Awissawella (Colombo District ) last friday (23).
The arrested
are of the ages 18-26 years residing at Balangoda,Awissawella and Gurugalla areas it has been revealed.During the raid the Police team attached to the Seethawaka police had taken into custody a haul of Cannabies in possession of the youth and 20 grammes of Hashish narcotic,12 liquor bottles and 22 beer bottles in possession of Hotel owner .

A 68 Year Old Female Had Died After Colliding With A Motorcycle
A 68 year old female had died after colliding with a,Motorcycle at a level crossing in Hadapangoda area in Kalutara District (Western Province) today (23).
The deceased was crossing the road to reach the Samurdhi Bank at the time of the incident and succumbed to her injuries after been admitted to Horana Base Hospital for treatment.

Two masons who were involved in construction work near the Nuwara-Eliya Town had died on the spot after a 25 feet tall wall under construction had collapsing on them last evening (16).
Accordingly two masons who were mixing a,concrete mixture nearby the wall of a house under construction at old kachcheri road had died due to this incident.The deceased were residents of Elpitiya area in Galle district it has been revealed.
President Ordered To Complete The Construction Work Of Low Level Road In Three Months
President Ranil Wikramasinghe had directed the relevent officials of the respective departments involving in expanding the stretch of Low level road between Orugodawatte and Ambathale(Colombo district) to complete the construction work of it within next three months period.
The construction work of the stretch which spans 7.7 Kilo meters had begun in 2016 and scheduled to be completed in 2020 .However due to the issues arisen during the construction work it got delayed to complete the project .

A Person Was Injured Due To Gun Shooting In Dikwella
A Person was injured and hospitalized after two men arrived from a Motor car had fired gun shots at him and fled the scene yesterday (13) at Kumarathunga Road in Dematapitiya,Dikwella (Southern Province ).

51 Year Old Grass Cutter Remanded Over The Death Of A Child
The 51 year old Grass cutter who is responsible for the death of a five and half year old child in Mulleriyawa who died due to the wounds caused by the lawnmover use to cut grass had been remanded untill 15 th of June after been produced before the court .
The boy had died due to severe bleeding caused by the cuts of his abdomen received through the blades of the grass cuttinng mechine last Thursday (08).

Six Students Swept Away Whilst Bathing In Talpe Sea Area
Six students who sat for the recently concluded G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination had swept away due to the strong sea currents whilst bathing at the sea area in Talpe ,Habaraduwa (Southern Province ) last evening (10).
Police officers along with the residents of the area had managed to save five out of the six students but one student was dissapeared due to the incident .
The missing student was 16 year old student and resident of Pothuhara area in Kurunagala district (North Western province ) it has been reported.Police had launched a special mission to find the missing student.
This incident occured when 41 students including above group of students went to a trip to the sea area after completing the examination with their tution teacher.
