 Sri Lanka is due to digitalize the issuance of birth Certificates islandwide according to State Minister of Home Affairs Ashoka Priyantha 


.At present a Pilot project regarding this is underway he had stated.Latet it is due to exoand to all the Districts in the Country .


Four National Cricketers Were Given Police Posts

 The Department of Police had given four National Cricketers Higher Positions in  the Department yesterday(07).Accordingly Opening Batsman Kusal Janith Perera and Chamara Silva  had been appointed as Chief Inspectors of Police and Cricketers Ashen Bandara and Nuwan pradeep had been appointed as Inspectors Of Police (IP).


The Minister Of Public Security Tiran Alles had given the letters of appontment to these cricketers during a function held in Colombo yesterday (07)

Security Forces Arrested 1113 Suspects In Possession Of Narcotics

 Sri Lanka Police along with the Special Task Force(STF) ,The Army and the Navy within  have arrested 1133 Suspects in possession of a large haul of narcotics under the "Yukthiya "(Justice) mission carried out  within 24 hours ended last morning (05) according to the reports.


Accordingly out of the suspects that have been arrested 38 were sent to rehabilitation and Police had secured detention orders on 54 suspects for further investigations .Forces have taken into custody a large haul of Narcotics including  A Kilo Gramme of "ICE", 405 Gramnes of Heroin, 4.7 Kilo grammes of Cannabies and 27,868 Cannabies pills the Ministry of  Public Security has announced .

A Former Deputy Chief Of MSD Remanded Over Substandard Injection Vials Scandal.

 The Criminal Investigations Division (CID )  had yesterday (05)arrested the  former Deputy Director General of Health Services and Deputy Director of the Medical Supplies Division ( MSD) Dr.Herath Kumara over the importing  and distribution of the Substandard  Human Immunoglobulin injectian vials 



The Former Deputy Director of MSD Dr.Herath had been remanded until 10th of January after being produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate Court it has been reported .Authorities have already arrested and remanded the Former Health Ministry Secretary Janakasri chandragupta and five other officers attached to the Health sector and drug import company over the  Substandard Human Imunoglobulin injection  vial scandal .
