A person has died and another went missing after falling in to the Devon water fall on Hatton -Nuwara-Eliya main road yesterday (12)according to the Dimbula pathana Police.
Accordingly a 42 year old person lived in CraiglyEstate in Dimbula pathana area has died and a 51 year old petson in the same estate went missing the Police had stated.Police had found the body of the deceased from.the kothamala oya(River) near the Devon water falls during the search operation it had been revealed.
Several areas in the Galle District were submerged due to the heavy showers prevailed in the district yesterday (12) according to the Disaster Management Center.
Accordingly many houses and roads and tution classes in the Galle as well as low lying areas had been submerged yesterday as a,result of the floods occured due to the heavy showers it has been reported.
Four persons of the 'same family at a house in Gawaranhena area in Balangoda ,went missing due to a landslide occurred in the area,yesterday (12).The mother ,father and two daughter's of the same family at a house completely destroyed due to the landslide went missing it has been reported.
Altogether a house was completely destroyed and another two houses were partialy destroyed due to the landslide and the nine persons belongs to the two families lived in two.partially damaged houses were moved to a safe place after the incident according to the authorities .
