Navy Had Arrested Two Persons With 104 KG Of Kerala Cannabies

 Sri Lanka Navy had arrested two persons over keeping in possession of  104 Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabies at Vaddukoddai area in Jaffna(Northern province) yesterday (29).


Accordingly the two suspects were arrested whilst transporting the haul of Kerala cannabies packed in 50 parcels in three gunny sacks in a Three wheeler the Navy had stated.

The street value of the  consignment of narcotics is believed to be around Rs.41 million.The Navy Officers had handed over the stock of Kerala cannabies,along with the two suspects of the ages 25 and 40 years to Vaddukoddai police for a legal action.


Former Police DIG Arrested Over Causing A Vehicle Collision At Marine Drive

The former Senior Deouty Inspector General  Of Police (Retired ) Ravi Seneviratne was arrested by the Police at Msrine Drive in Bambalapitiya over causing a multiple vehicle collision whilst driving his  under the influence of liquor. (28).


The former Deputy Inspector General was  arrested after his vehicle colliding with three other vehicles at Marine Drive the Police had ststed.

Police Fired Tear Gas/Water Cannons To Disperse A Protest

 Police had fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse a Protest march organized by the Medical Students Action Commitee at Green path,Colombo -07 yesterday (27).

The Protest March was organized


the Medical students attached to the Medical students action committee  comprising of  Sabaragamuwa ,Moratuwa  and Wayamba Medical faculties against opening Private Universities in Sri Lanka.

NBRO Issued Landslide Warnings,To Five Districts

The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) had issued landslide warnings to 46 Divisional secretariets in 05 districts due to the heavy showers experienced in the island at  present.


Accordingly NBRO had issued landslide warnings to 46 divisional secretariets of Badulla ,Galle,Hambanthota ,Matara and Ratnapura districts .
