Ransomware Attack Caused A Data Loss in In Govt . Offices

A large scale ransomware attack occurred between 17 th of May an 26 th of August caused a severe data loss in all Government offices includinh the Cabinet office using the e mail domain "gov.lk " according to the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka(ICTA).

According to the ICTA crucial


information are being exchanged via these e mail domains.
 some data under the purview of the President's Office, Cabinet Office, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Health were affected due to  the ransomware attack 

A Person Was Injured Due To A Gun Shooting At Ratmalans

 A person was critically injured and hospitalized due to a gun shooting incident near the Ratmalana Railway station this morning (10).


The injured person had been admitted to the South Colombo Teaching Hospital for treatment .

The incident occurred when  four persons arrived in a Black car fired gun shots towards the fisherman who were returning home in wee hours of this morning it has been revealed.The reaon behind the gun shooting has not yet been revealed .

A Female Had Died After Falling From A Multi Storey Building In Mount Lavinia

 A 27 year old female had died after falling from the 13th floor of a Multi storey residential  building at Alwis Road in Mount Lavinia in wee hours of last Morning (09) according to the Mount Lavinia Police.Police have recovered the body of the deceased after receiving a complaint at around 2.40 a.m yesterday  .



The deceased had arrived in the island on 08th of March and purchased the apartment from the multi storey Residential Building in Mount Lavinia.In the past six months she had lived in the apartment with her boy friend who is a law student pursuing his studies in switzerland according to the Police.The deceased was due to fly back to england last morning it has been revealed. 

Mount Lavinia Police is conducting an investigations on the incident .







The body of a young woman, who had died after mysteriously falling from the 13th floor of a multi-storey residential building, has been recovered early this morning (Sept. 09). 

Reports revealed that the deceased was a British citizen of Sri Lankan origin.

The body was found after the Mount Lavinia police officers received a complaint at around 2:40 a.m.

The 27-year-old had arrived on the island on March 08 this year and purchased an apartment unit in the aforementioned residential building located at Alwis Road in Mount Lavinia.

It was also reported that she was romantically involved with a young law student from the Wellawatta area with whom she had become acquainted via Facebook.

Upon her arrival, she had been living in the apartment unit with her 29-year-old boyfriend for the past six months. The police said the young man, who is pursuing his studies in Switzerland, had returned to the island in 2022.

According to reports, she was supposed to fly back to England tomorrow morning (Sept. 10). During interrogations, the boyfriend told the police that they had an argument over religion last night.

President To Appoint A Commission To Probe On Channel -4 Revelation

 President Ranil Wikramasinghe has decided to appoint a three member commission and a Parliamentary Select Committee to probe on the allegations levelled by the  England's Channel -4 TV Channel  against the former President Gotabaya Rajapakshe stating he was involved in Easter sunday attacks occurred  in 2019 .


Accordingly President Wikramasinghe is due to appoint a  three member Commission comprising of Three senior retired Government  Officers representing Police ,Attorney General and the Civil service and a Parliamentary select committee to probe on revelation made by the channel -4  regarding the Easter  attacks.
