The Kandy -Mahiyanganaya Main road near the 14 th Hair pin bend of the 18th Hairpin Bend( 18 Wanguwa) in the Central Province had been temporarily closed down last evening (04) due to an Earth slip occurred in the area according to the Police.
The Earth slip has occurred as a,result of the bad weather prevailing in the area the Police have stated.Police have advised the Motorists to use an alternative routes when travelling .

The Monitory Board of the Central Bank has decided to increase the Interest rates of Fixed deposits and Loan scheme facilities with effect from today (03).
Accordingly the Interest rate of Fixed deposits will be increased to 15.50 percent and the Interest rate of Loan scheme facilities will be increased to 16.50 percent the Central Bank has announced .
One of the fraudulent bodies in the country ,The National Water Supplies and Drainage Board has announced a 24 hour long massive water cut in several areas in Colombo district from 2 p.m tomorrow(04) until 2 p.m on Sunday (05) due to the renovation work of the water supplying system supplying water to the Maligakande reservoir .
Accordingly water supply to Colombo-01-04 ,Colombo -07 to Colombo-11 as well as in several other areas in Colombo District will be stopped for 24 hours the Water Board has announced.
