Private Bus Owners Want Diesel Prices To Be Reduced Further

 If the Government can reduce the price of Diesel by another Ten rupees ,Bus ticket prices can be reduced according to the President of the Ceylon Private Bus Owners Association Gamunu Wijeratne .

If there's no price revision of Diesel then reducing Bus ticket prices will be not possible he has stated .Bus ticket prices can be reduced based on Supplying sufficient  stocks of Fuel to Buses and introduction of Electronic card he has further stated ,Ceylon Petroleum Corporation and Lanka Indian Oil Company had reduced the price of a Liter of Auto Diesel by Rs.15 on 02nd of January .

Cabinet Has Approved A Proposal To Increase Electricity Bill

Cabinet has today (09) approved the proposal submitted by Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekare to increase the Electricity Bill again ,But not yet decided the date which the increased Electricity bill will be implemented .

Cabinet has also approved a proposal made through the Cabinet paper to introduce a price formula to  the Electricity Bill .The approved Cabinet paper is scheduled to be produced before the Public utilities commission for approval.

Two Carriages Of The Colombo-Fort -Kandy Bound Train Derailed

 The two carriages of the   Colombo Fort-Kandy bound Intercity Train had derailed yesterday (07) when it entered the Kandy Train dockyard after it's daily travel schedule.

Accordingly the derailed Carriages had  collided with another Carriage parked at the dockyard and that Carriage too got damaged as a result of the collision .

Egg Producers To Distribute Eggs To Economic Centers For Lower Prices

 After Government has announced it's decision to importing  eggs from other countries ,The All Ceylon Egg Producers Association has decided to distribute Eggs to all Economic Centers in the Island for Rs.53 per an egg the Association has announced ,

The Association has also stated that  it will bring around 800,000 Eggs to Colombo today (08) and will supply  eggs free of charge to the Lady Ridgway Hospital in Colombo which faced severe egg shortage at present As there's an egg shortage in many areas of the country the price of an egg had now priced as   Rs.65  .

Omalpe Thero Wants Public To Stay In Darkness For Half And Hour Today (08)

 The General Secretary of the Jathika Hela Urumaya(JHU) Party   MP Venerable Omalpe Sobitha Thero had requested the General Public to switch off all the lights in their houses for a period of 30 minutes from 6.30 p.m to 7 p.m today (08) in protest of the government's decision to increase Electricity bills .

The Venerable Omalpe thero had urged the public to launch an Island Wide silent protest  campaign on switching off the lights during above period against increasing Electricity bills .
