Protests Against Privatising Sri Lanka Telecom

 Employees attached to Sri Lanka Telecom had staged a massive protest campaign in front of Telecom headoffice   Colombo Fort Railway Station and all Telecom Sub Offices Island wide  this noon (25) demanding to halt Privatizing Sri Lanka Telecom . .

According to the Telecom Trade Unions which organized these protests have stated that selling of a profitable institution like Telecom cannot  be accepted .Telecom trade unions have  also stated that they will not allow to privatize the institution .

A Ship Carrying 10.6 Million Liters Of Diesel To Be Arrived In Colombo Tomorrow(26)

 The Chinese Fuel carrier  "Super Eastern" carrying 10.6 Million Liters of  Diesel to be distributed among Sri Lankan Fisheries and Farmer Communities is scheduled to be arrived at Colombo Harbor tomorrow(26) according to the Chinese Embassy in Colombo .

This ship has already left Singapore the Embassy has stated.China has decided to donate this stock of Diesel to uplift the Fisheries and Farmer  communities which had fallen  due to  the current economic crisis .

Two Persons Were Arrested In Jaffna Over The Drug Smuggling Charges

 Police special Task Force personal in Jaffna district (Northern Province )have arrested two persons  who had been involved in Drug smuggling targeting school children at Chunnagam-Mailankadu area yesterday (23).

The two suspects are of the ages 25 and 44 years .Chunnagam Police are investigating over the incident .
