Prime Minister Appointed A Special Committee To Provide Relief To Public

Newly appointed Prime Minister Rsnil Wikramasinghe had today (13) assumed his duties officially and appointed a special committee to end the   shortage of essential goods and services  and to get proposals to   provide   relief  to the public. 




Accordingly Prime Minister had appointed former United National Party MP' and secretary of the party  Range Bandara and chairman of the party Vajira Abeywardane to get proposals on how to provide essential food items to public without any shortage ,Deputy leader of the party Ruwan Wijewardane to get proposals on how to ease the drug shortage ,Deputy leader of UNP Akila Viraj Kariyawasam to get proposals on fertilizer shortage and national organizer of UNP Sagala ratnayake to get proposals on fuel shortage .

Island Wide Curfew To Be Lifted For 12 Hours Tomorrow Morning (14)

 The Island curfew currently being imposed will be lifted at 6 a.m tomorrow morning (14) and will be re imposed again at 6 p.m tomorrow evening according to President's Media Division .


This curfew will be lifted at 5 a.m on Sunday morning (15) the Division had stated ,

Island Wide Curfew Lifter This Morning -Re Imposed From This Evening

 The Island wide Curfew which had been re imposed at 2 p.m Yesterday (12) had been lifted for 08 hour period  from 6 a.m this morning (13)  and it has been imposed again since 2 p.m this evening .


The Curfew will be scheduled to be lifted at 6 a.m tomorrow (14)  .

Many Factions Opposed Premier Ranil Wikramasinghe's Appointment

 Although United National Party (UNP) Leader Ranil Wikramasinghe had been appointed as the new Prime Minister In Sri Lanka many factions including the main opposition Smagijanabalawegaya Party ,Jathika Janabalawegaya Party as well as religious leaders including Chief Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith had refused to accept his appointment ,


These factions had argued that Premier Ranil Wikramsinghe legally not eligible to hold the Prime Minister's post as he is not elected to the Parliament by the voters .Several Media Briefings were held in Colombo  on this  regard during yesterday .
