A One Hour Power Cut Imposed In Many Areas Of the Country Today (07)

 Ceylon Electricity Board had today (07) announced an Island wide  one hour Power cut between 5,30 to 9.30 p.m due to the delay of supplying fuel to Sapugaskanda and Baththala Power stations .

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has agreed to supply the required 5000 metric tons of fuel to t the two power stations .A two hour power failure occurred in many areas of the island  including Colombo and suburbs  yesterday (06) due to a breakdown in Kelanithissa and Kukulegnaga Power plants .it has been reported.    

 A total of 588 Corona Positives had been reported in the country today (07) ,Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 590,651 according to Epidemiology Unit .

At the moment 8,792 Corona Positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system the Unit has stated .

Meanwhile 5203 Corona Positives had been recovered and discharged from hospitals  and quarantine Centers increasing the total number of Corona Positives recovered and discharged from Hospitals and  quarantine centers to 566,760,

Another 16 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (07)-DGHS

 A Total of 16 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (07) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 15,099 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).

Accordingly 08 males and 08 females had died due to Corona infection DGHS has stated. Out of the deceased 12 were over 60 years of age and 04 were belonged to the 30-60 year age group it has been revealed.

Note-Daily the number of Corona deaths released by DGHS is in the same pattern .

Vaccinating 12-15 Year Age Group With Anti Corona Vaccines To Be Inaugurated Tomorrow (07)

Vaccinating children belongs to the 12-15  year age group is scheduled to begin tomorrow (07) according to the Ministry Of Health ,

Accordingly the children belongs to the above age group will receive a single dose of Pfizer Corona vaccine as recommended by the local health authorities ,Earlier Sri Lankan Health sector had given Corona vaccines to around 30,000 children belongs to 15-19 year age group .

Meanwhile The Ministry Of Health has decided to speeding up the Booster shots within next few weeks and local government bodies are scheduled to be converted to vaccination centers under this programme  the Ministry has stated ,

Circular Regarding Extension Of The Public Sector Employees Retirement Age Had Been Issued

 The Ministry of Public Services ,Provincial Councils and Local government bodies had today (06)issued the public circular regarding the  extension of   retirement age of state sector employees to 65 years .

This circular will be implemented with effect from 01st of January this year according to the Ministry ,Those who had already given approval for retirement this year  can cancel it  through their  department head and continue their services  the Ministry has pointed out .
