11 Corona Positives Had Been Discharged Today (05) After Full Recovery

A total of 11 Corona positives had been

discharged from hospitals today  (05)after full recovery according to Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly majority of Corona positives that have been discharged today from hospitals were discharged from Infectious Diseases Hospital  (IDH ) in Angoda .

The total number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals so far had risen to 2918 the unit has stated. 

Court Has Remanded The Goods Receiving Officer Of The Parliament Canteen Over Taking Bribes From A Fruit Supplier

The goods receiving officer of the

Parliament Canteen arrested by the Bribery Commission officials whilst accepting Rs.60,000 as a bribe from a fruit supplier to accept rotten fruits supplied to Parliament Canteen without refusing, had been remanded until 17 th of September by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne yesterday  (04).

The suspect had been produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate yesterday.

He was arrested by the Bribery Commission officials whilst accepting Rs. 60,000 as a bribe from the fruit supplier  on last Thursday  (03).

The suspect had involved in taking bribes  from the fruit supplier since long time it has been revealed. Investigations are underway regarding the incident. 

Fire Occurred In Crude Oil Ship "New Diamond " On Sri Lankan Sea Area Had Been Contained -Sri Lanka Navy

The fire occurred in the Crude oil ship "New diamond "transporting 270,000 tonnes of Crude oil to India from Kuwait "has been contained yesterday  (04) due to a joint fire dousing mission carried out by Sri Lanka Navy and Airforce it has been revealed.

A navel man of the 23 crew member ship has died due to the fire occurred in the ship on last Thursday  (03)at Eastern sea area of Sri Lanka near Sanagamankanda area in Ampara and 22 Naval men of the ship had been rescued by the Navy .

However there 's no threat of reaching oil leaked from the ship towards Sri Lankan shores according to Navy officials.

The fire of the ship which belongs to Panama has occurred due to an explosion of the Boiler in the ship it has been revealed.

Sri Lanka Navy had towed the damaged Crude oil ship towards deap seas yesterday and Sri Lankan officials are due to decide what cause of action need to be taken regarding the ship today .

Indian Navy and Coastal guard force had assisted Sri Lanka Navy amd Airforce during dousing the fire of the ship.

Meanwhile Environmentalists had warned that there's a risk of damaging Sri lanka's  enviornment if the oil leaked from   the ship has reached Sri Lankan shores.

Four Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (03)

A total of 04 Corona positives had been reported in the country today (04)increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 3115

according to the Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly 02 arrivals from India ,An arrival from Israel and another arrival From Philipines (Filipino National ) had tested positive for Corona virus today.

At the moment( 196) Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals. 

192 Sri Lankans stranded In Italy Had Been Brought Back To Sri Lanka

A group of 192 Sri Lankans stranded at

Milan city in Italy due to Corona pandamic had been brought back to Sri Lanka today (04)by A special Sri Lankan Airlines flight according to sources.

Accordingly The SriLankan  Airlines flight carrying SrI lankans from  Milan,Italy had arrived at Mattala International Airport this evening from Milan  .

"PCR " tests had been performed on all these Passangers at the Airport before sending them to quarantine Centers to quarantine.
