Corona Virus Threat :Sri Lankan Embassy Officials In Beijing Holding Talks To Remove Sri Lankans Living in Locked Down Wuhan City

Officials attached to Sri Lankan

Embassy in Chinese capital Beijing are currently holding talks with Chinese authorities and other Embassy officials in Beijing regarding removing of Sri Lankans living in Wuhan city locked down due to the spreading of new corona virus it has been reported.

The talks are being held under the instructions of sri Lankan Foreign Ministry .

Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing had opened a social media account in 'We chat " social media platform to issue guidelines to Sri Lankans ĺiving in Wuhan City on how to prevent the
spreading of New Corona virus issued by World Health Organization .

Meanwhile complaints are pouring in to Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing from local relatives of Sri Lankans in China inquiring on their whereabouts it has been revealed .

A Russian National.Was Fined Over Riding A Motorcycle Without A Licence And Influence Of Liquor

SanjeewanI Pathirana has today (24) imposed Rs.50,000 fine over a 36 year old Russian National on riding a Motorcycle in Galle Town without a valid driving license in possession and under the influence of liquor .

The suspect Alexander Rovche had been arrested by the Traffic Police officers attached to Galle Police whilst riding the Motorcycle without the driving license and produced him before the court .

Investigations Department (CID)Senior Superintendent Of Police (SSP)Shani Abeysekare had yesterday (23)given a six hours statement regarding an allegation levelled against him on involving in a telephone conversation related to the abduction case of Local visa officer attached to Swiss Embassy Shania Bannister Francis .

Court ordered the Former CID Director Shani Abeysekare to give a statement to CID regarding the alleged telephone conversation .

Former CID Director who had been interdicted recently over involving in a telephone conversation with MP Ranjan Ramanayake said to be included in a leaked audio clip shared in social media without an initial inquiry, had arrived in CID Headquarters around 9.15 a.m and left around 3.15 p.m after giving the statement.
