Ballot Paper To Be 2.2 Feet High As 35 Cintestents Contesting For The Presidential Election

The size  of the  Ballot paper scheduled
to be  used for the forthcoming Presidential Election is 24 inches more in height than the previous ones according to the National Election Commission .

Accordingly the size  of the new Ballot paper scheduled to print is 2.2 feet in height .as there are 35 Candidates contesting in the election compared  to the  few contestents contested in  previous elections .The previous ballot paper is around 2 inches high it has been revealed .

The module Ballot paper has been printed by the Government printer  and hamded over to the President of the National Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya it has been revealed.

Due to the number of contestents in this years Presidential Election the number of representatives allowed to  be there in a polliting station has been increased to 70 and the number of representatives allowed to be  there in a counting center had been increased to 170 .

Narional Elections Commission is due to either prepare  Ballot boxes again or to import new plastic ballot boxes for the presidential Election it has been stated .

OIC 's Of Crimes And Admimistration Units Of Fort Police Interdicted Over An Unconfirmed Letter Sent To The Tourist Hotels On An Attack

Police Department has today
(08)interdicted the OIC Of Criminal Invesrigations Unit of the Colombo Fort Police and the OIC of Administration Unit of the same police had been intrdicted over sending letters to Tourist Hotels with an unconfirmed information saying there's a mass attack scheduled to occur similar to the recent Easter sunday attack .

The special investigations Unit of the Police headquarters had conducted an inquiry over the letter which was sent to the Hotels on 02nd of October and found that the letter was baseless the Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare  has stressed .

The letter which  was sent to 16 Tourist Hotels in Colombo also circulated in the social media recently .The controversial letter  has instructed the Hotel Administrators to check all the foreign tourists entering Hotels as a safety meassure it has been revealed .

A Person Has Died After Falling From Sethsiripaya Building

A 52 year old person has died after
falling from the 12 th floor of the "Sethsiripaya " Ministerial Building at Battaramulla to the open area of the 03rd floor last morning (06)it has been reported .

The deceased was a resident of Madiwela ,Pitakotte .

Thalangama police are conducting an investigation over the incident.
A section of the Nawalapitiya Town from the Bus stop towards Gampola
area had been submerged due to a heavy showers experienced by Central hills this evening (07).

Accordingly around 500 meter area in Nawalapitiya had been submerged as a result.

The floods had caused due to the blocking of the drainage system it has been revealed
