Previous Regime Involved in Large Scale Fraudulent Activities By Importing Old "Linear Accelerator "Machines For Cancer Treatment On The Pretext Of New Machines -Health Minister

Importing of  Old '  Linear Accelerator "Machines use for Cancer Treatment on the pretext of new Machines was a large scale fraud Occured during previous regime according to Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

These Machines had been left out at Maharagama Apeksha (Cancer),Galle and Batticaloa Hospitals without used them  according to Media and they had been  imported to Sri Lanka through a company by spending a huge amount of public funds Minister  has stressed.

The importation of these Machines should be approved by a Medical Consultant ,However above stock of "Linear Accelerator "Machines had been approved by a normal Officer of the Ministry he said .The officer was retired when attempting to investigate on him .

However Current Administration of the Health Ministry has managed to consulted the Company responsible for importing these old machines and make an agreement to provide new Machines replacing old ones this year Minister has further said.

"I know really well who was behind this corrupt deal .But will not reveal it " He has said . 

132 Ambulances To Be Distributed Among 132 Hospitals

Ministry Of Health is due to be distributed 132 Ambulances among 132 Government Hospitals throughout the island on this Friday  (18) at Colombo Municipal Council premises under the patronage of Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne. 


Accordingly These Ambulances will be distributed among 103 Provincial Council Hospitals ,27 Central Government Hospitals and 02 Ayurveda Hospitals it has been  revealed.

The value of the stock of Ambulances made in Ford ,England is around  Rs.2500 million .
