Fifteen Bus Passangers Had Been Injured Due To A Road Accident

Fifteen Bus Passangers had been
injured and hospitalized after the Bus they were travelling in on a pilgrimage from Agalawatta ,Kalutara to Kataragama had veering off the road near uraniya Junction on Buttala -Kirinda  road today  (28).

Out of the  injured 13 persons had been admitted to Hambanthota General Hospital and 2 Persons had been admitted to Debarawewa Base Hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred due to the inability of the Bus Driver to control the speed of the vehicle it has been revealed.

Hambanthota Police are conducting an investigation over the incident.

President Maithripala Sirisena To Hand Over Ministry Of Law And Order Taken By Him To UNP ?

The Ministry of Law and Order taken over by President Maithripala Sirisena within his
purview recently is due to be handed over to a senior member of the governing United National Party (UNP) soon after the President returns to the island from Thailand it has been revealed.

President had left to Thailand for a private tour on 24th of December and scheduled to return to Colombo oi 31st of December.

President has taken over the Ministry of Law and Order recently during the swearing in ceremony of  United National Front (UNF) Cabinet Ministers although he has no power to do so in accordance with  the constitution .

Two Persons Had Been Killed After Colliding With Two Trains In Wellawatta

A 42 year old female and a 65 year old male had been killed after colliding with two trains at Wellawatta Police division last evening (27) it has been reported.


Accordingly the 42 year old female who was a resident of Moratuwa area had been killed after colliding with a Train travelling from Maradana to South Kalutara near the Coastal security Naval Base in Wellawatte and a 65 year old male was killed after colliding with a Train travelling from Wellawatta to Dehiwala at Nelson Road in Wellawatta .

Both bodies had been sent to the mortuary of Kalubowila Teaching Hospital and the identity of the deceased male has not yet been revealed .

Wellawatta Police are conducting an investigations over the two incidents.
