Few Ministers Sworn In Before President

Two Cabinet Ministers ,Six Deputy
Mimisters and Five state Ministers of the new government appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena had sworn in before president last evening  (01) at the Presidents Office.

Accordingly MP Duminda Dassanayake has been sworn in as the Mimister of Irrigation and water resources and MP Dayasiri Jayasekare had sworn in as Minister of Skill development .

Other MP' S who had sworn in including  Nishantha Muthuhettigama ,SriyanI WijeWikrama and Mohan Lal  Grero.




A Person Was Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin

Anti Narcotic Bureau officials Excise
Department had arrested a person whilest transporting nearly 1 Kilo Grammes of Heroin in a Motor Car at Kurana area in Negambo today (01).

The estimated value of the haul of Heroin taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is around Rs.10 million according to Excise Department .

Rs.40 Import Tax Imposed On Imported Potatoes And Anions

An import tax of Rs.40 has been
imposed on a Kilo Gramme of Imported Potatoes and Anions with effect from midnight tonight (01 )according to the Ministry of Finance.

This step will be taken to protect local Potatoe and Anions farmers it has been  revealed.

A Wild Elephant Has Died Due To An Electrocution

A 35 year old Wild Elephant was killed after colliding with an unprotected Power Line laid to protect Papaw cultivation at Rathmale ,Minneriya early this morning (01).

The Wild Elephant was in Minneriya reserve and the Land Owner had been arrested over the incident.

The suspect is due to be produced before the Hingurakgoda Magistrate Court .
