A Fire Erupted In "Little Sripada"(Little Adam's Peak)

A huge fire is currently spreading in the land area belongs to "Little Sripada" (Little Adam's Peak)Mountain reserve at Ella in Badulla since this evening (08)had destroyed around 100 acres of land according to reports.

The fire  was erupted in the Mountain reserve which belongs to the Ravana falls (Ella)reserve which is a popular tourist spot and a home to a  large number of endangered trees and species it has been reported.

The fire is currently spreading over the Mountain reserve.

A Female Singer Was Stabbed To Death

A female singer Priyani Jayasinghe was stabbed to death  with a pair of ceissors at her residence in Arukgoda,Panadura today(08)according to Police.

Police have suspected the Husband of the deceased singer as her killer and he is currently evading arrest Police Media Spokesman has stated.

Six Students Were Injured And Several Houses Damaged In Southern Province Due To The Strong Winds

Six students have been injured with

one critically and several houses were damaged as well as power lines as a result of the fallen trees ,After strong winds blowing across several areas in Southern Province including Galle and Hambanthota today(08)according to the Disaster Management Center.

Six students were injured and hospitalized after the roof of a Private Tution Class in Beliatta had collapsed over them due to a falling of a tree to the roof it has been reported.

Several Incidents related to the  House and Roof  damages have been reported in several areas in the Southern Province including Akuressa according to the Center.

Meanwhile as the strong winds still prevailing in Southern Province,The Meteorology Department has instructed the Navy and fisheries community to be vigilant over the situation in sea areas.

An Elderly Female Was Injured Due To A Motor Car Caught Fire At The Southern Expressway

An elderly female had received minor

injuries and hospitalized after the Motor Car she and a couple were travelling in colliding with the retention wall of the Southern Expressway and caught fire near the 97 th mile post between Pinnaduwa and Imaduwa  yesterday(07) .

The injured was admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital and the couple survived without any injuries due to the incident.

However the "Alto "Type motor car involved in the Accident was severely damaged due to the fire.

The incident occurred due to the driver falling a sleep while driving  the vehicle from Colombo to Akuressa  according to the Police.
