Two Impriosned Chief Suspects Of Central Bank Bond Scam Arjuna Aloysius And Kasun Palisena Have Been Further Remanded

Related imageThe Imprisoned Chief suspects of the Central Bank Bond Scam Arjun Aloysius and Kasun Palisena of Perpetual Treasuries Limited have been further remanded until 24 th of May by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today (10) after they have been produced before the court.

While hearing the case against the two suspects ,Colombo Fort Magistrate has also ordered the Chief executive officer of the Arrack liquor Company-Mendis Company to hand over  a complete report on  the money issued by Perpetual Treasuries to the Mendis Company.

Magistrate has also ordered the local income department to hand over the information provided by the perpetual treasuries on it's  assets and income ,to the Inspector General Of Police(IGP).

Fuel Prices To Be Revised Every Two Months-Minister Of Finance:LOIC To Increase Fuel Prices From Tomorrow

Fuel prices will be revised every tow months under the new Cabinet approved Price formula according to the Minister Of Finance Mangala Samaraweera.Accordingly prices of Fuel may have increase or decrease he has stated.

Meanwhile following the Government decision to increase the prices of fuel distributed by Ceylon Petroleum Corporation,Lanka Indian Oil Company(LOIC) too had announced that the LOIC will increase the Prices of it's fuel with effect from tomorrow(11). However  the Company   not yet been  decided the final increase rates of Fuel it has been reported.

Cabinet Has Approved The Removal Of Glyphosate Ban On Tea And Rubber For 36 Month Period

Cabinet has approved a proposal submitted by the President Maithripala Sirisena to remove the Glyphosate ban imposed on Tea and Rubber under strict control  for a 36 month period (3 years) .Image result for glyphosate
According to the Minister Of Media and Co-Cabinet Spokesman Gayantha Karunathilake ,The Glyphosate ban will only be lifted for Tea and Rubber and that too for a 36 month period.

Cabinet has also approved a proposal to set up an expert committee to investigate on the affects of Glyphosate as Weedicide for crops he has stressed.This expert committee will investigate on the ways of using Glyphosate only for the  crop industry with  limited purposes .

Prices Of Fuel To Be Increased With Effect From Midnight Tonight-Price Of Kerosene Liter To Be Increased From Rs.57

Related imageThe prices of Fuel which the government owned Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has earlier stated will not be increased soon due to be increased with effect from midnight tonight (10) according to the Minister Of Health and Cabinet Spokesman Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

While Addressing a Cabinet Press Briefing held this morning (10) at the Government Information Department in Narahenpita ,Dr.Senaratne has stated that the Prices of Kerosene Oil,Diesel and Petrol will be increased with effect from midnight tonight.

Accordingly the Price of a Liter of Kerosene Oil will be increased by Rs.57 from Rs.44 to Rs.101.The Price of a Liter of Super Diesel will be increased by Rs.9 from Rs.110 to Rs.119 ,Price of a Liter of Auto Diesel to be increased by Rs.14 from Rs.95 to Rs.109 ,Price of a liter  of Octane Petrol-92 to be increased by Rs.20 from Rs.117 to Rs.137 and Price of a liter of Octane Petrol -95 to be increased by Rs.20 from Rs 128 to Rs.148.

Although the liter of Kerosene Oil to be increased by Rs.57 ,Samurdhi Beneficiaries and Fishermen will be received it for Rs.44 per liter it has been announced.

Recently Consumer affairs authority has given approval to increase Gas prices as well although the prices of Gas in the world  market has been dropped.
