Two Workers Injured After A Part Of A Concrete Slab In Newly Constructed Building Collapsing On To Them

Two workers  attached to a newly
cconstructed three storied building located behind the Dambulla Economic Center were injured and hospitalized this evening(07) after a part of a concrete slab in the third floor of the building collapsed on to them.

The injured were admitted to the Dambulle Base Hospital.

The incident occurred during the laying of the concrete slab at third floor of the building it has been revealed.

A Person.Was Critically Injured After Falling Down From A Precipice In Pahala Kadugannawa

A 28 year old person who was under an

influence of liqour was  critically injured and hospitalized after falling down from the precipice of Pahala Kadugannawa on Colombo-Kandy main road last night(06) it has been reported.

The injured had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Kandy Teaching Hospital for treatment.

Two Were Killed And Two Children Were Injured Due To A Road Accident In Agalawatte

A father (92) and his son (51) who was
attached to a Ministereal security service  were killed and 11 year old boy and 12 year old girl were injured and hospitalized after the Motor Car they were travelling in veering off the road and colliding with a bridge at kalawellawa in Agalawatte today(07).

The four of the injured travelling in the Motor Car were admitted to the Horana Base Hospital for treatment where the father and son had succumbed to their injuries.

The accident has occurred due to the inability of the driver to control the speed of the vehicle according to Police.


Veteran Radio Dubbing Artist And Actress Rathnavali Kakunawela Passed Away

Popular Veteran local actress and Radio dubbing artist Rathnavali Kakunawela popularly known as "Manike" in ever popular long running Sri Lankan Radio Drama "Muwanpalassa" has passed away today (07) at the age of 87.

The late actress had entered the Radio drama field on 21st of December 1951 as a dubbing artist in a drama and later featured in many Radio dramas in Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation and films,tele dramas and stage dramas during her long running career.

Her brother was also a popular Radio dubbling artist late Victor Migel who was featured as the hero  "Kadira" in Muwanpalassa drama.

Late Rathnavali Kakunawela has passed away after prolonging illness and her body is at her residence in 25/1, C Vedikanda road,Ratmalana.

Her funeral is due to be taken place in Borella Cemetery  on this Monday evening.

"May she attained supreme bliss of Nibbana".
