Two Youths Were Shot And Killed By An Unidentified Gunmen In Hikkaduwa

Two youth were killed due to a gun shooting incident occurred in a sticker sales outlet in front of the Hikkaduwa provincial secretariat today(23) .

Two unidentified gunmen arrived in from a Motorcycle shot at the two youths in their 20's and fled away it has been revealed.

The two persons who were shot by the gunmen had succumbed to their injuries at the time they have admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.

The deceased had been identified as residents of Kumarakande,Dodanduwa.

Hikkaduwa Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Two Persons Were Killed And Another Injured Due To A Sand Mount Collapse

Two persons were reported as killed due to the collapse of a Sand mount along with a wall in a Construction Building site at Mawanella this morning(23).

The deceased had succumbed to their injuries after admission to the Mawanella Hospital.Another one who got injured due to the incident admitted to the same Hospital for treatment.

A 65 Year Old Person Was Killed Due To A Carbide Tank Explosion

A 65 year old person was killed after a carbide tank located in a workplace in koorikotuwa ,Veyangoda exploded this morning(23).

The critically injured person had succumbed to his injuries on admission to the Wathupitwala Hospital.

The injured had been identified as a resident of Kuriykotuwa area.

Veyangoda Police are carrying out an investigation on the incident.

Several Equipment In A Shop In Kahawatte Had Been Destroyed Due To A Fire

Several equipment worth millions of rupees in a Shop in Kahawatte area had been completely destroyed due to a fire erupted in the Shop this morning(23).

The building where the shop was located also damaged due to the incident according to the Kahawatte Police.The Police along with the residents of the area have control the fire in initial stage and the fire brigade of the Rathnapura Urban Council arrived in the scene and doused the fire completely.

No casualties have been reported due to the incident as there's no one inside the Shop at the time of the incident.The cause for the fire has not yet been revealed.

A Person Was Arrested With A Haul Of Cocaine Worth Rs.1.5 Million

A person was arrested this morning (23) with a haul of cocaine worth around Rs.1.5 million in Punchi Borella area.

He had been remanded until 06th of June by the Maligakande Additional Magistrate after being produced before the court this evening.

The suspect who is a resident of Kaduwela area brought the haul of Cocaine to distribute among night clubs it has been revealed.
