Mother And Cousin Brother Of Drug Kingpin Wele Suda Arrested In Colombo

The mother and the cousin brother of imprisoned drug kingpin Samantha Kumara allias "Wele Suda have been arrested by the Department of Excise today(06) at Wellawatte(Colombo) with 20 Grammes of Heroin in their possession.

The two suspects who were arrested in possession of  10 Grammes of Heroin each are due to be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court today(06). 

Wele Suda had been sentenced to death by Colombo High Court in October 2015 in possession of Heroin.

Katunayake Airport Will Be Closed For Operations Eight Hours Daily With Effect From Today(06)

Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport will be closed for Airport Operations for 08 hours daily from 8.30 a.m to 4.30 p.m with effect from today(06) up to 05th of April 2017 to overlay the  runaway to improve the surface conditions.

The estimated cost of the overlay of runaway in Katunayake Airport is around Rs.7.2 billion . This will be the first time that an overlay of a runaway project is carrying out at Airport since the commissioning of the runaway in 1986.

Authorities are  kindly requested from all passengers to be at Katunayake Airport five hours prior to the departure time of their flights , as the Airline check in counter will be closed one hour prior to the scheduled departure time .

Ministry Of Health To Take Action Against Oncologists Who Refused To Prescribe Russian Cancer Drug To Their Patients

Ministry of Health has decided to take deciplinary

action against the Oncologists attached to Maharagama Apeksha Hospital who refused to prescribe Russian made Cancer drug to their patients.

The Deciplinary action will be taken against these dictors after the report of an inquiry conducted against the oncologists who had  refused to prescribe the Russian Drug ,hand over to the Minister next Monday the Health Ministry has announced.

Sri Lanka Navy Arrested Ten Indian Fishermen While Illegally Fishing In Sri Lankan Waters

Sri Lanka Navy along with Sri Lanka Coastal Guards

had arrested ten Indian fishermen with two fishing trawlers while illegally fishing in Sri Lankan waters off North  west of delft island(Northern Province).

The arrested Indian Fishermen who are from Jegathapattinam and Pudukottai Districts and their fishing trawlers were handed over to the assistant director of fisheries in Jaffna for future course of action .

The arrests were made three days after Sri Lankan government agreed to release 51 Indian  who are already in it's custody.
