Two Persons Were Arrested While Engaging In Illicit Liquor Trade

The special police  task force personal had been

arrested two persons illegally engaging in illicit liquor trade at Bevaraliya in Deniyaya area (Southern Province).

Along with the suspects the Police have taken into  custody 20,000 mili liters of illicit liquor and 180,000 mili liters of Goda (a raw material used to make illicit liqour)in their possession.

The special police task force personal had handed over the arrested suspects along with the  stock of illicit liquor to Deniyaya Police for further investigations.

Sri Lanka Navy Have Arrested 22 Local Fishermen While Engaging In Illegal Fishing

Sri Lanka Navy have yesterday (23)arrested 22 local

fishermen while engaging in illegal fishing by using banned nets and explosives in Sri Lankan seas off the coasts of Silawathurai and Mannar(Northern Province).

Accordingly Navy Personal have arrested 16 local fishermen while engaging in illegal fishing practices along with 3 dinghi boats,4 pairs of diving fins ,10 oxygen cylinders,4 diving masks and 2 GPS units .

Police Have Arrested A Person With Five Fake Driving Licences In Nuwara Eliya

Kadapola Police have arrested  a

person with five fake driving licences in his possession at Magastota in Nuwara Eliya(Up Cointry) today(24).

The suspect who is a resident in Magastota.Kadapola area had been arrested as per a tip received by Police it has been reported .

It has been revealed  that the suspect has supplied  a large number of fake driving licences to his clients Kadapola Police have stated..

Kadapola Police are conducting an investigation on the incident .

Three Persons Were Arrested Over Illegal Gem Mining In Ratnapura

Special Police Task Force Personal had arrested three

persons over illegal gem mining at Ratnapura-Marapana area.

During the raid the Police officers have also taken into custody the equipment used for gem mining by the suspects.

The suspects along with the Gem Mining equipment had been handed over to the Ratnapura office of the Gem and Jewelry Authority

High Voltage Of Power Supply Destroyed Electrical Appliances In Nuwara Eliya Houses

An electric appliances used by house holds in

Gaminipura,Nuwara Eliya (Central Province) had been destroyed due to a  high voltage of power supply  it has been reported.

The high voltage of power supplied to the area as a result of a lorry colliding with electrical wires in the area on last Thursday according to the Ceylon Electricity Board(CEB).

Ceylon Electricity Board has decided to pay a co pansation for the destroyed Electric Appliances in Nuwara Eliya .
