Embilipitiya Police have srrested a person with 80 kilo

grammes of Kerala Cannabis in his possession at Embilipitiya -Ratnapura main road.

The suspect was transporting  the haul of Kerala Cannabis from a Van when police arrested him.

The suspect who is a resident of Suriyawewa area (Southern Province) is due to be produced before Embilipitiya Magistrate Court.

Sri Lanka Air Force is due to air lift the bodies of ten

persons who were killed yesterday (17) due to a van-bus collision at Chavakachcheri in Jaffna.

Accordingly Sri Lanka Air Force due to air lift ten bodies of the deceased who were reside in millaniya,Horana (Western Province) shortly to Air Force base in Rathmalana(Colombo) and thereafter the bodies will be transported to a floral house at Horana .

Relatives of the deceased had arrived Jaffna yesterday to identify the bodies.

Eleven persons were killed when the van they were travelling in to Nagadeepa Viharaya (Temple )collided with a bus at Chavakachcheri in Jaffna.

A Youth Was Drowned In Seas Off Wellamadama ,Matara

A 19 year old youth was drowned in the seas off

wellamadama in Matara (Southern Province)yesterday (17) while bathing it has been reported.

The drowned youth who is a resident of Mulathivu (Northern Province)area  was involved in construction work of the  auditorium attached to Ruhunu University and went to the sea bath yesterday noon according to reports.

Police Have Arrested A Person With Unlicenced Firearm

Police have yesterday (17)arrested a 42 year old

person with an unlicensed firearm in his possession at Ehatuwewa in Megalawa area.

Megalawa police have arrested the suspect as per a tip off received by the Police.

The suspect who is a resident of Ehatuwewa area is due to be produced before Galgamuwa Magistrate Court.
