Colombo Fort Magistrate Has Ordered to Further Remand Former Ambassador To USA

The Colombo Fort Magistrate haa today (16) further
remanded the former Sri Lankan Ambassador to United States Of America  Jaliya Wikramasuriya who waa arrested and remanded over misusing of state funds while at office until 23rd of December.

The Police financial crimes Investigation Division(FCID)oficials  have arrested the suspect on 17th of November when he prepared to leave the country at Katunayake International Airport.

The former Sri Lankan Ambassador to USA had been charged for accepting a commission of US Dollars 332,000 when awarding contract to renovate the Sri Lankan embassy in Washington D.C.

World Bank Has Decided To Grant US Dollars 1340 Million Soft Loan To Sri Lanka

World Bank has decided to grant Sri Lanka a soft loan
of  US Dollars 1340 million for  low interest rate according to  Minister Of Finance Ravi Karunanayake.

World Bank has informed Sri Lankan government this morning(16) that it will granted US Dollars 900 million from international Bank of Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and US Dollars 440 million from International Development Assistance (IDA) for a three year period the Finance minister has stated.

A Laborer Was Killed And Anotner Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Fire In Nuwara Eliya

A laborer was killed and another person injured and
hospitalized due to a sudden  fire erupted at a  fourth floor of a Hotel which is under construction at Nuwara Eliya ( Central Province) according to the Police.

The injured was admitted to the Nuwara Eliya Hospital for treatment.

The sudden fire had erupted at the fourth floor which covered from a wooden cover of the nine floor Hotel Police have stated.The deceased had been ifentified as a resident of Ulapane area.

Police Officers attached to the Nuwara Eliya Police along with the fire brigade of Nuwara Eliya urban council and residents of the area have doused the fire.

One Person Was Killed And Nine Others Injured Due To A Bus-Lorry Collision

One person was killed and nine others injured and
hospitalized following a Private Bus-Lorry collision occurred at Ellepola in Balangoda area today (16),

Accordingly a Bus travelling from Badulle to Colombo had head to head collided with a Lorry transporting textiles to a garment factory and the crtically injured Lorry driver had succumbed to his injuries after admitted to the Balangoda Hospital ,Balangoda police have stated.

Nine injured Bus passengers had been admitted to the Balangoda Hospital for treatment.
