An Inquiry Is Due To Be Held Against An Engineer Who Sat On The Parliament Speaker's Chair

sri lankan parliament speakers chair සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලSpeaker Karu Jayasuriya has today (18) instructed the General Secretary of  Parliament  to hold an inquiry against an Engineer who is a parliamentary Staffer alleged as sat on the Parliament Speaker's chair at the  chamber  on Wednesday for a short period of time.

Speaker has instructed to hold an inquiry on the incident following a complaint made by United National Party MP Ranjith Aluvihare regarding the incident.The Engineer sat on the Parliament Speaker's chair after Parliament was adjourned on Wednesday(16).

Former Sri Lankan Ambassador TO USA Jaliya Wikramasuriya Was Arrested And Remanded Over Accepting A Commission

The Former Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United States Of America and Mexico Jaliya Wikramasuriya who was arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) yesterday(17) morning has been remanded until 02nd of December by the Colombo Fort Magistrate this morning.

The former Ambassador who was arrested by FCID officers yesterday morning while trying to leave the country at Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport has been remanded after produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate this morning.

He was arrested over accepting a commission worth 332,000 US Dollars after awarding the contract of renovate the Sri Lankan Embassy in Washington D.C while at office during the previous government.

Thirty Two Sri Lankans Belonging To Four Families Have Joined ISIS Organization-Justce Minister Wijedasa Rajapakshe

Government has received information that 32 Sri Lankans belonging to 04 families have joined the Islamic State(ISIS) Terrorist Organization in Syria the Minister Of Justice and Buddhasasana Wijedasa Rajapakshe has stated today(18) at the Parliament.

During the Budget Debate held in  Parliament today , Justice Minister has stressed that absolutely there will be no chance for religious extremist activities in Sri Lanka with effect from today(18)

Public is  misled due to the false extremist statements spread by some Sri Lankan websites the Minister has said.

ISIS Extremists is now controlling a certain amount of territory in both Syria and Iraq and involved in terrorist activities in most of the western countries.It has been revealed that ISIS have attracted a large number of foreigners recently who joined the group to involve in military activities.

The First Ever National Guidelines On Correct Use Of Antibiotics Has Launched In Sri Lanka Yesterday(17)

During the past decade the resistance rates for most of
the  organisms both in the. health care settings as well as in the community in Sri Lanka  have escalated at an alarming rate according to Director General Of Health Services Dr.Palitha Mahipala.

Addressing at the launching of   first ever National Guidelines on  "correct use of Antibiotics  to  prevent resistance  "introduced in Sri Lanka which  jointly  launched yesterday  (17) at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo by World Health Organization (WHO) and Ministry of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Dr.Mahipala stressed that this is especially so for Gram negative organisms causing infections.

The most effective and practical mode of approach to minimize the problem is by having a national policy for the use of Antibiotics in the country he has stated.

As the International Antibiotic resistant awareness week had been announced from 14th to 20 th of November it is important to prevent Antibiotic resistance which is s major problem in Sri Lanka as well through using Antibiotics correctly the local Microbiologists have stated during yesterday's launch

Addressing at the event Minister of Health Dr.Rajitha Senatatne has stated that it's the drug companies that made Antibiotics which can be resistant for infections and  after that same companies manufacture drugs that fight against the resistance .




A Youth Was Killed And four Others Injured As Their Jeep Met With An Accident.

A youth was killed and four others were injured and
hospitalized  due to the Jeep they were travelling in veered off the road on Galgamuwa-Moragollagama road today (17).
