Heavy Traffic Was Reported In Lotus Road Due To A Protest At Colombo Fort

Image result for lotus road colomboA heavy traffic had been reported at Lotus Road in Colombo up to this noon due to a protest campaign launched by a group of Government Pensioners in front of the Colombo Fort Rail Way Station this morning .

The Pensioners had launched the protest demanding increasing of their allowances.The protestors had demanded to increase their allowances through the forthcoming budget .


Police Arrested A Female With More Than Two Kilos Of Kerala Cannabis At Rathmalana

Mount Lavinia Police have today(07) arrested a 32 year old female with 2 Kilos and 250 Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in her possession at Rathamalana Area .

The arrest was made as per an information received by the unsolved crimes section of  Mount Lavinia Police it has been reported.

The suspected female who is a resident in Rathmalana Area is due to be produced before Mount Lavinia Magistrate Court.

One Was Killed And Four Were Injured And Hospitalized Following Two Lorries Collided Each Other

Image result for accident graphicOne person was killed and another four were injured and hospitalized as a result of two lorries collided each other at the 19th Mile Post on Puttalam-Anuradhapura main road today(07).

A 40 year old person who got seriously  injured due to the accident  had succumbed to his injuries and the other injured persons  were admitted to the Puttalam Base Hospital for treatment .

Bribery Commission Had Filed A Case Against State Minister Fowzie

Image result for colombo magistrate courtThe Bribery Commission had filed a case against the State Minister Of National Integration And Reconciliation A.H/M Fowzie at Colombo Magistrate Court over misuse of a state owned vehicle worth Rs.19.5 million when he was the Minister of Disaster Management in previous government.

The Court had ordered the State Minister to appear before the court on 28th of October when the case is due to be taken up for hearing.

President Maithripala Sirisena Had Left Thailand To Attend A Summit

Image result for asia cooperation dialogue summitPresident Maithripala Sirisena had left Thaliland last night to attend the Asia Corporation Dialogue Summit scheduled to be held from 08th to 10 th of October in Bangkok with the participation of 34 Asian Countries.

President Sirisena is due to address the Summit on 09th of October(Sunday)it has been reported.Apart from attending the Summit Sri Lankan President is due to hold bi lateral talks with several Asian Leaders including  Prime Minister of Thailand Prayuth Chan O Cha.

The leaders attending the Asia Corporation Dialogue Summit will be discussed the matters relevant to the regional countries.Sri Lanka has joined the Summit in 2003.
