Senior DIG Anura Senanayake And Former Crimes OIC Sumith Perera Were Further Remanded Over The Murder Of Former Rugby Player

Image result for remanded Senior Deputy Inspector General Of Police(DIG) Anura Senanayake and former Crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera who were detained and remanded over the murder of former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen have been  further remanded by the  Colombo Additional Magistrate Nishantha Pieris  today(24) until 07th of September .

The two suspects have been further remanded after they are being produced before the Magistrate Court today.

When the case on Thajudeen's murder was taken into consideration today at the Colombo Magistrate Court the government lawyer has informed the court that further investigations are underway on  CCTV footage and telephone calls taken attached to the murder .

Former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen was murdered in May 2012 and it was earlier considered by the authorities as a death occurred due to an accident.

Nine Persons Injured And Hospitalized As The Van They Were In Veered Off The Road At Ella

Image result for ella roadNine Persons were injured and hospitalized today(24) following a van they were traveling in veered off the road and turned upside down into a precipice in24th KM Post on Ravana Ella road ,Ella.

The injured including the driver of the van were admitted to the Bandarawela District Hospital for treatment.

A total of seventeen persons including six children were traveling in the van at the time of the accident.The Ella Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

A Female Pilgrim was Killed And Seventeen Others Injured As The Bus They Were In Veered Off The Road

Image result for accidentA female pilgrim was killed and seventeen other pilgrims injured and hospitalized following the private bus they were travelling in veered off the road  and turned upside down at Nachchikuda Area {in northern province} yesterday morning.

After the accident eighteen pilgrims including seven females  in the bus were admitted to the Jaffna Hospital and one female pilgrim succumbed to her injuries upon admission to the hospital.▪

Nachchikuda  Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.





Four Acres Of Land Had Been Destroyed In Forest Reserve At Balangoda

Image result for fireAround four acres belonging to the Kirimatithanna Forest Reserve in Balangoda had been destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted in the area it has been reported.

Police and the residents in the area had managed to douse the fire.No casualties have been reported due to the fire.

The cause of the fire has  not yet been  revealed and Balangoda Police are conducting  further investigations on the incident.
