Drug Regulatory Authority To Issue A Circular Regarding Price Reduction Of Drugs On 31st Of August

Image result for drugsThe Independent Drug Regulatory Authority is due to issue a circular regarding the decrease in escalated prices of drugs on 31st of August according to the Ministry of Health,Nutrition and Indeginous Medicine.

The Minister of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne along with other higher officials of the Ministry had discussed with the officials of  National Chamber Of Drugs regarding the price reduction of drugs recently.

During the meeting the Health Minister has proposed the officials of the  National Chamber Of Drugs to reduce the prices of drugs up to 85% it has been reported.

The prices of the some essential  drugs in the  local market had been increased from 100 to 200 percent recently according to reports.

Although the Police Department has provided special security for the Bandaranaike Samadhi at Horagolla in Gampaha as per the request of Former president Mrs.Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumarathunge citing the protestors of the ongoing Protest March"Jana Satana" might attack the Samadhi,the protestors have been reported as silently passed the Samadhi by removing the head gears and lowered the flags they have carried.

Speaking to the media the United Peoples Freedom Party (UPFA) MP and son of the former president Mahinda Rajapakshe ,Namal Rajapakshe has stated that the former president Mrs.Kumarathunge had been totally mistaken to think that the protestors of the Paadha Yathra (protest march) will attack the samadhi.

"we are the ones who are protecting the policies of real Sri Lanka Freedom Party founded by late S.W.R.D Bandaranaike" he has stressed.

Finance Ministry Has Issued A Revised Circular On Duty Free Vehicle Permits With 50% Tax Concession

Image result for vehiclesThe Ministry Of Finance has issued a revised circular on Duty Free Vehicle Permits by allowing state sector employees to import vehicles with value up to US Dollars 30,000 with 50% tax concession.

Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake had submitted a cabinet paper regarding the revised circular on 26th of May and received the cabinet approval on 16th of July according to the Finance Ministry.

According to the revised circular public officers,Executive Officers in state departments and statutory boards,government lawyers and doctors university lecturers,Vice Chancellors and executive non academic staffers of Universities are entitled to receive this revised concessionary vehicle permits the Ministry has stated.

The previous government has issued duty free vehicle permits for over 38,000 state employees since 2010 and the loss of the tax income government has incurred due to this is over Rs.143 billion it has been reported.
