Former MP P.H.Piyasena Was Detained By Colombo Crimes Division

Image result for detainedThe Former Parliamentarian P.H Piyasena was detained by Colombo Crimes Division(CCD) this morning over allegedly misusing of government vehicles.

The suspect had been elected to Parliament in the 2010 Parliamentary Election by contesting under the Tamil National Alliance(TNA).He is due to be produced before Colombo Magistrate This evening.

CID Has Recorded A Statement From The Former IGP Dr.Balasuriya Regarding The Assassination Of Former Sunday Leader Editor

The Criminal Investigations Department(CID) has recorded a statement today(29) from the former Inspector General Of Police(IGP) Dr.Mahinda Balasuriya regarding the assassination of the former  Editor of Sunday Leader  Newspaper Lasantha Wikramathunge  .

The former IGP who is also the former secretary of Ministry Of Law and Order has arrived at CID Headquarters in Colombo  this morning   per the request made by the CID.

Earlier An Army Personal has detained over threatening the driver of the assassinated former Editor Of Sunday Leader newspaper.

Protest March Launched By Joint Opposition Group Has Commenced The Journey On The Second Day

The Protest March(Paadha Yathra) "Jana Satana"launched by the Joint Opposition Group yesterday(28) has commenced the second stage of the March from Uthuwankanda this morning.

The Protest March is due to reach Nelumdeniya Area this evening according to the reports.

The Protest March has ended it's journey on the first day at Hingula area yesterday evening.It's scheduled to be arrived in Colombo on 01st of August.

Three Persons Have Detained At Hambanthota For Stealing Cash And Jewelry From A Dispensary

The Police have detained three persons yesterday(28) over stealing cash and gold from a Dispensary belonging to a Doctor at Ranna Area in Hambanthtota.

Two persons who had arrived at the Dispensary by claiming that they have fever had threatened the doctor and stolen  Rs.18,000 in cash and and some gold jewelry belonging to the doctor according to Hungama Police.

The suspects had  been previously arrested and remanded for several times the Police have stated.
