Two Police Officers Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To An Accident Occurred In Puttalam-Anuradhapura Road

Image result for accidentAn Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP) and a Constable were injured and admitted to Puttalam(In North Western Province) Hospital following the double cab vehicle there were traveling in veered off the road and crashed into a Margosa Tree in the palugassegama area on Puttalam-Anuradhapura Main Road on wee hours today(09)

The two police officers were traveling from Mulathivu to Colombo when they met with the accident.Police have suspected the Police Constable who was driving the vehicle may fallen to sleep at the time of the accident.

Both Police Officers are in stable condition according to sources.

One Hundrad Twenty Eight Volantary Health Workers In Northern Province Receieved Permanant Appointments

The Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indeginous Medicine has taken steps to made permanant 128 out of 200 volantary health workers who were recruited to hospitals in northern province during war period to lookafter patients.

The remaining 72 volantary health workers who got minimum qualifications will make permanant soon according to the Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

These workers made permanant in their posts by considering the service they have rendered over the years the minister has stressed.

Wild Life Officers Have Found A Body Of A Ten Year Old Elephant From Sigiriya

Wild Life Officers have today(08) found a body of a ten year old elephant in ahalagala tank area of the historical Sigiriya Sanctuary.

According to the Sigiriya Wild Life Officers the elephant may have been killed through gun shot injuries.

Due to the hotel construction work that is being carriedout in  Sigiriya at present the lives of elephants there are in danger the wild life officers have stated.

A Group Of Residents Have Staged A Protest Campaign In Front Of Salawa Army Camp

    A Group of residents in Salawa had staged a protest campaign for nearly three hours this morning by blocking the high level road in front of Salawa Army Camp claiming that they are not receiving the payment of compensation properly for the damages occurred to their houses and properties due to the Salawa Army Camp fire.

Due to the blockage a heavy traffic has been reported on Colombo-Awissawella main road.

The protestors have claimed that only few victims of the Salawa Army Camp fire have received the Rs.50,000 monthly compensation so far and majority of the victims have not received that yet.Around 800 victims are there in the awaiting list to receive compensation and still the estimation of the damages occurred due to Salawa Army Camp fire which occurred on 05th of June not completed as yet the protestors have stressed.

The protest has been stopped after three hours according to sources.
