GMOA Urged Government To Change The Health Minister
The Government Medical Officers Association(GMOA) has today(29) urged the government to replace the Minister of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne with another politician or stated President Maithripala Sirisena should take over the Ministry Of Health .
GMOA'S suggestion came after Minister Dr,Senaratne's announcement that the Health Ministry will not allow GMOA to take decisions in future on internship appointments of Doctors as in recent past.
GMOA is a legitimate partner in transfer procedures of Health Ministry and interference of Minister and his family for the procedure is an unethical and unacceptable GMOA has announced.

Government Has Declared Around 99 persons Reported As Missing Due To Landslides As Dead
The Government has today(29) declared around 99 persons reported as missing due to the landslides occurred at Central Province one and half weeks ago as dead as the authorities involved in search operations failed to trace a sign of life under the heavy mud in landslide sites.
Around 67 bodies had been recovered and 99 persons reported as missing due to a landslide occurred at Aranayake area in Kegalle District (Central Province) one and half weeks ago following heavy showers.
Around 37 persons were killed as a result of floods occurred in many parts of the country during last two weeks the Disaster Management Center has announced.

Welipenna Interchange Of Southern Expressway Which Closed Down Due To Floods Has Reopened
The entry and exit points of the Welipenna interchange of the Southern Expressway which closed down one and half weeks ago due to the floods has reopened now for the motorists the Road Development Authority has announced today(29).
The interchange was closed down by the authorities as a result of floods inundating the roads in Welipenna and surrounding areas
