Sri Lanka To Become A High Income Country By The Year 2030- Prime Minister Wikramasinghe

Image result for ranil wickremesingheIn view of Sri Lanka becoming a High Income country by the year 2030 the country should be achieved the impossible task of 9% growth rate Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has said today(02).

Speaking at a ceremony held today(02) in Colombo to  mark the 30th anniversary of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) Prime Minister has said whatever happens government should ensure there will 6.5% economic growth rate for next year .

Foreigners Will Be Not Given Free Ownership Of Sri Lankan Lands Through The Budget-Finance Minister

sri-lanka-property-investmentFinance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has said today (02) in Parliament that foreigners will be not given free ownership of Sri Lankan land through the 2016-Budget as predicted by some opposition members but they will be given permission to obtain local lands for 99 year lease.

The same criteria applied for China Funded Colombo Port City Project as well according to the Finance Minister.

The Minister has said that none of the current regulations on transferring the land ownership to foreigners have been removed through the Budget and only the Tax imposed on leasing of land to foreigners has been removed.

Second Reading of the 2016-Budget Has Been Passed Today (02)With Majority Of 107 Votes

The Second Reading of the 2016-Annual Budget has been passed at Parliament today(02)  with a majority of 107 Votes .A total number of 159 MP's have been voted in favor of the Budget while 52 voted against it.

Image result for parliament sri lankaThe Party represent the Opposition Leader of the House Sambandhan, Tamil National Alliance(TNA) ,the party leaders who have  earlier supported former President Mahinda Rajapakshe  ,leader of the Ceylon Workers Congress(CWC) Arumugam Thondaman,leader of the Ealam Peoples Democratic Party(EPDP) Douglas Devananda and United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) MP Lakashman Seneviratne have voted in favor of the Budget Proposals.

Leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna(JVP)  and several UPFA MP's representing joint opposition supporting former President Mahinda Rajapakshe have voted against the Budget.

Thirteen MP'S Including former President Mahinda Rajapakshe and Venerable Athuraliye Rathana Thero were absent during the voting.

The debate of the second reading of 2016-Budget has conducted for nine days before the voting held today and the Committee Stage or the  third reading of the Budget is due to be commenced tomorrow(03).

The Committee Stage debate is scheduled to be held for 15 days and the voting of the third reading is due to be taken place on 19th of December.



Four Police Officers In Charge(OIC) Have Been Transferred With Immediate Effect-Police Department

Under this Balangoda OIC Chief Inspector H.P.G Prasanna has been transferred as the new OIC Of the Narahenpita Police Station,Narahenpita OIC Chief Inspector M.G.U.D Gunathilake has been transferred to Ampara Police Headquarters for normal duty.

Former Eastern Province Chief Minister Pillayan Has Been Further Remanded

Image result for pillayanFormer Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanasathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan has been remanded today (02) further until 16th of December by the Batticloe Magistrate over the alleged murder of former MP Joseph Pararajasinghem .

Pillayan Was further remanded after he was produced before Batticloe Magistrate N.M Abdullah today(02).

He was arrested on 11th of October by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) after been recorded a statement from him over the murder of former MP Joseph Pararajasinghem.

All Flights Including Colombo To Chennai-India Have Been Cancelled As Chennai Air Port Is Under Water

All flights including three Sri Lankan Flights  from Bandaranaike International  Airport in Colombo to Chennai Air Port in India have been cancelled today(02) as Chennai Air Port and suburbs have flooded due to the Heavy Showers.

According to the sources flood waters at Chennai Air Port has reached the undercarriage of an Air Craft landed there.All Flights due to take off from the Air Port have been suspended by the Authorities until the water level goes down sources have further said.

Government Hospital Nurses.Professions Supplementary To Medicine and Paramedical Officers are due to hold a protest ca mommpaign in front of the Ministry Of Health on 08th of December and to launch an island wide token strike on 15th of December by demanding solutions for six of their service Demands.

Among the demands made by Joint Council Of nurses.professions supplementary to medicine and para medical officers are adding the Rs.10,000 allowance to salary of government servents    and ,abolishing  the proposed consolidated pension fund

Seventeen Persons Have Been Injured Due To A Bus Collision
