A Person With Around Rs.66 Million Worth Foreign Currency Notes In His Possession Has Been Arrested At Mattala Air Port

A person with around Rs.66 Million worth Foreign Currency in his possession has been arrested by the Sri Lankan Customs Officers  at Mattala International Air Port in Hambanthota(In Southern Province) this morning when he allegedly attempted to leave the country.

The 35 year old Suspect was arrested while he was prepared to board the flight to Dubai according to Customs Officers.

Around Ten Varieties Of Foreign Currency Notes including US Dollars,Euros,British Pounds,
Swiss Franks and Omani Riyals have been found in suspect's possession and Sri Lanka Customs Department is  carrying out an Investigation on the incident.

Minuwangoda Magistrate Has Further Remanded The Main Suspect Of Five Year Old Girl's Rape And Murder Case

Image result for remandedThe Minuwangoda Magistrate has today (16) further remanded the person who found guilty for rape and murder of five year old Seya Sadewmini of Kotadeniyawa Area until 07th of December.

The suspect was further remanded after being produced before Minuwangoda Magistrate Court today(16).Suspect Saman Jayalath has proved as guilty for the rape and murder of five year old girl after his DNA Samples have matched the DNA Samples found from girl's body it has been announced.

The DNA Test was carried out by Gene Tech Institute in Colombo.


Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya Has Appointed As New Chairman Of Election Commission

The Constitutional Council with the approval of President Maithrpala Sirsena has  appointed  Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya as new Chairman Of Election Commission it has been reported.

Ranjeevan Hoole and Nalin Abeysekera have been appointed as members of the Election Commission which was established as an independent Commission under the 19th Amendment.

Presidential Commission To Investigate On Missing Persons In Jaffna District From 11th TO 16Th August.

The Presidential Commission On Investigating   Missing Persons has decided to investigate  complaints received from Jaffna District regarding  Missing Persons during Next Month(December) according to the Commission.

According to Secretary Of The Commission H.W Gunadasa the Complaints  which have received from Jafna District will be investigated during 11-16th Of December .

Around 2500 complaints on missing persons have been  received from Jaffma District  up to now Secretary Of The Commission has said.
