United National Party (UNP) Received Majority Of Postal Votes In Trincomalee District
Governing United National Party(UNP) has received majority of Postal Votes in Trincomalee District according to the second postal vote result issued by the Elections Department .

United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) 14,261 Votes (42.36%)
Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna(JVP) 2,109 Votes(6.26%)

President Sirisene Has Sacked 13 Central Committee Members Of SLFP -Appointed 25 New Members
President Maithripala Sirisene has sacked 13 Central Committee Members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party(SLFP) mostly the supporters of former President Mahinda Rajapakshe this evening in his capacity as the SLFP Chairman .
President has already informed his decision of sacking 13 central committee members attached to the SLFP to Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya.
Former UPFA MP'S Keheliya Rambukwella,Professor G.L Pieris,Johnston Fernando,Susil Premjayantha ,Anura Priyadarshana Yapa ,Arjuna Ranathunga,Dr.Rajitha Senaratne and western provincial Councilor Hirunika Premachandre are among st the central committee members who have been sacked by the president.
After sacking of these members President has elected 25 new members to the Central Committee of SLFP according to the reports.

The main opposition party United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) has received the majority of postal votes in Ratnapura District as the Postal Vote result of the district has been announced short while ago as first election result of the Sri Lankan Parliament Election held today(17).

Higher Voter Turnout Reported In Morning Session Of The Election
The voting for the Sri Lankan Parliamentary Election which began 7 a.m this morning is reported as running in peaceful manner up to now and higher voter turnouts have been reported in most parts of the island.
The voting for the Election which is conducting to elect 196 members to the Sri Lankan Parliament is scheduled to be concluded at 4 p.m this evening.

Elections Commissioner Requested Not To Sell Sunday Newspapers Yesterday And Today Due To Political Ads
The Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya has yesterday(16)requested the Acting Secretary to the Ministry Of Media to avoid selling any of the Sunday Papers yesterday(16) and today(17) due to the political advertisements related to today's election published in those papers.
The election campaigning for today's Parliamentary Election was ended at midnight Last Friday.Due to this situation the News Paper Organizations here have released their Sinhala/English and Tamil Sunday Papers to the market on last Friday .
However as those Sunday Papers have been in the paper stalls both Saturday and Sunday as well the Elections Commissioner has made a request from the acting secretary to the Media Ministry Boralessa to instruct the newspaper organizations not to sell those papers on yesterday and today.
