Cabinet Sub Committee Report On 20th Amendment To Be Handed Over To The President Today(18)

The report of the Cabinet Sub Committee appointed to look into the 20th Amendment on electoral reforms is scheduled to be handed over to the President Maithripala Sirisena this evening.

All Political Parties have been submitted their proposals to the 20th Amendment last week and the final draft is scheduled to be presented to the Cabinet this Wednesday .

Government has earlier stated that after the cabinet approval the 20th Amendment Draft Bill will present to the Parliament soon .

Opposition MP'S Handed Over A No Confidence Motion Against The Finance Minister

A no confidence motion signed by more than 100 MP'a mainly from the opposition against  Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake has been handed over to the speaker Chamal Rajapakshe this evening at t Parliament according to the Parliament Sources.

Minister Karunanayake has requested the Opposition last week to file the no confidence motion they are planning against him immediately and he has no issue on it.

Court Of Appeal Extended The Stay Order Against Baanning Of Full Face Helmets

The Court Of Appeal has today(18) extended the stay order against the banning of wearing full face helmets by the Motorcyclists until 02nd of July.

The Police have earlier decided to implement a ban of using full face helmets due to the increased number of crimes occurred in the country have done by using those helmets.


The petition filed at Courts Of Appeal against the banning of full face helmets argued that if the full face helmet ban will be implemented it would greatly inconvenience the Motor Cyclists throughout the island.
