Customs Officers Taken Into Custody 25 Narcotic Parcels At Central Mail Exchange

 The Officers attached to the Narcotics Control Unit of the Sri Lanka Customs had taken into Custody around 25 Parcels suspected to be contained with different varities of narcotics including Ecstasy Pills and Kush Cannabies at the Central Mail Exchange in Colombo today (05).


The estimated street value of the Narcotic parcels is around Rs.43 million according to the Customs .

Six Persons Arrested Over Running A Fake Educational Institute

 Police have arrested a 23 year old female director of an unregistered Educational Institute at Lauries Road in Colombo -04(Bambalapitiya )  and five other enployees of the Institute over running a fake Educational Institute .


However the 23 year old Director of the institute goes by the name "Evolve Collage Of Education " who is,a resident of Giriulla area had been released on a surety  bail of Rs.500,000 after being produced before the Hulftsdorf Magistrate Court.Other five employees arrested by the Police of the ages 23,25 and 26  years  who are residents of Pallewela ,Puwakpitiya ,Polonnaruwa,Mathugama, and Dematagoda areas were also released by the court on surety bails of Rs.100,009 each.








Seven Persons Arrested With Archeological Objects In Possession

 Seven persons including a female had been arrested by the Kadawatha Police over keeping  pieces of rocks with archeological value in their possession at Suriyapaluwa area in Kadawatha ..


Police have also taken into custody the Bronze frame which contained the pieces of rocks it has been revealed .The suspects are of the ages 20-54 residing in Kadawatha ,Ragama,Imaduwa a nd Radagahamuna areas the Police had ststed.

A 28 Year Old Matron Of A Child Center Remanded Over A Death Of A Boy

 A 28 year old Matron attached to a Child Protection Centre In Kalmunai area (Eastern Province ) has been remanded until today (04)  by the Batticaloa Magistrate Court  over the death of a 17 year old boy at the center.


The suspect who is a resident of Uppuveli area in Trincomalee District was arrested over the death  of the boy who was beaten to death by the Matron it has been reported.The deceased was sent to the  Child Protection Center by the court over a robbery.
