Embilipitiya Police Arrested Three Persons With 1225 KG Of Cannabies

Police Officers attached to the Crimes division of the Embilipitiya Diciaional Police have arrested three persons in possession of 1225 Kilo Grammes of Cannabies during a,raid carried out at a newly built Two storied building at New town in Embilipitiya yesterday  (19).


The Police Team had also taken in to custody two weighing scales during the raid .This stock of cannabies taken in to custody believed to be the largest single haul of Cannabies   taken in to custody in Sri lanka so far it has been reported.

The three suspects arrested by the Police were prepared the stock of Cannabies  for sale at the tine of the incident .They are due to be produced before Embilipitiya Magistrate  Court .

Government Made Three Sevices As An Essential Services

 Government had yesterday(17) issued an Extra ordinary Gazette Notification making Power supply,Petroleum services and Hospital service as an essential  services .


This ExtraOrdinary  Gazette Notification has been issued by the President's secretary under the advise of President Ranil Wikramasinghe.These services were Gazetted as Essential services in order to maintain public life without any distruption .

President Ranil Wikramasinghe Left For An Official Visit To France And UK

President Ranil Wikramasinghe had left for an Official visit to France and United Kingdom in the wee hours of this morning (17).


During his official visit he is due to hold discussions with Paris creditors club in france  on Sri Lanka"s debt crisis and address Global Economic summit scheduled to be held in Paris ,France on the invitation of French president Emmanuel Macron.

Two Masons Had Died After A 25 Feet Tall Wall Collapsing On Them

 Two masons who were involved in construction work near the Nuwara-Eliya Town had died on the spot  after a 25 feet tall wall under construction had collapsing  on them last evening (16).


Accordingly two masons who were mixing a,concrete mixture nearby the wall of a house under construction at old kachcheri road had died due to this incident.The deceased were residents of Elpitiya area in Galle district it has been revealed.


President Ordered To Complete The Construction Work Of Low Level Road In Three Months

 President Ranil Wikramasinghe had directed the relevent officials of the respective departments involving  in expanding the stretch of Low level road between Orugodawatte and Ambathale(Colombo district) to complete the construction work of it within next three months period.


The construction work of the stretch which  spans 7.7 Kilo meters had begun in 2016 and scheduled to be completed in 2020 .However due to the issues arisen during the construction work it got delayed to complete the project .

A progress review meeting regarding the project was held at the President"s secretariet under the patronage of President Wikramasinghe last morning (16).
