The first school Holiday term for this year will be commenced on 27 th of May and will last till 12 th of June according to the Ministry of Education .
The G,C,E Oridinary Level Examination is scheduled to be commenced on 29 th of May and will be held during that period .
A Motorcycle was suddenly caught fire whilst riding at Vavuniya Town yesterday (13) it has been reported.
The three persons on the Motorcycle including a child had escaped unhurt after jumping off the Motorcycle.The residents of the area had doused the fire .
Two Wild Elephants were killed after colliding with the Colombo-Trincomalee night mail train between Agbopura and Kithuluthiwa Railway stations yesterday (13)it has been reported .
Another Wild Elephant who was also collided with the same train had fled away from the scene to the nearby forest reserve with serious injuries according to the sources . Due to this accident trains on the Railway line had been delayed for few hours it has been reported.
The Price of Imported Milk Powder will be reduced by Rs.200 per a,Kilo Gramme Of Milk Powdet with effect from 15 th of May the Minister of Trade Nalin Fernando had stated.
Accordingly the Milk Powder Importers had agreed to reduce the Price Of Imported Milk Powder following the discussions held in this regard Minister had stressed.
However the Milk Powder Importers Association had stated that although they have agreed to slash the price of Imported Milk powder it will be reduced from June not from 15 th of May as the Minister had stated
The Prices of 22 carrot and 24 carrot Gold pounds had been reduced by Rs.2000 and Rs.4000 respectively since yesterday (12) according to the All Ceylon Jewellers Association.
Accordingly the new price of the 22 Carrot gold pound is Rs.157,125 and 24 Carror gold pound is Rs.172,500 the Association has stated.
