A Generator In Norochcholai Power Plant Had Been Defunctioned

 The Public Utilities Commission had given approval to the Ceylon Electricity Board(CEB)to defunction one out of the three electric generators at Lakwijaya Coal Power plant in Norochchoali due to the shortage of Coal in the country .


Accordingly The generator which added nearly 270 Mega Watts of Power to the National Grid had been defunctioned since last night the Electricity Board has announced.The 270 Mega watts of Power lost to the National Grid due to the defunction of Coal power plant can be taken from Kerawalapitiya Coal power plant with the cost of Rs.228 million daily ,However it is too costly to the Board CEB has stated.

Three Injured Dolphines Drifted To The Coast In Panadura

 Three Injured Dolphines had been drifted to the Sea coastal area at  backyard of the  Tourist hotel at Uyankale area in Panadura town(Colombo District)  last evening (22).


These Dolphines had severe injuries and residents of the area had sent them back to the sea according to the Panadura south police .

Panadura South Police are being observed the area after a complaint was lodged by the residents over the incident .

Government Lifted Meat Transport Ban

 Government had lifted the ban imposed on transportation of Goat and Cattle Meat between provinces imposed  due to the sudden deaths of 1800 Cattle and Goats in North and Eastern provinces recently .


The ban was lifted after the tests carried out regarding the deaths of Cattle and Goats revealed those deaths occurred due to the cold weather exoerienced in North and Eastern provinces the  President's  Media Unit has stated .
