Litro To Release 100,000 Gas Cylinders To The Market Daily From Today (02)

 The Litro Gas Company has planned to release 100,000 Cylinders of Gas daily to the local market from today (02) the Company has announced.

A Ship carrying 3740 Metric tons of LP Gas has arrived in Colombo Harbor yesterday (01) and the sufficient amount of Gas cylinders will be released to the market from today to ensure there will be no Gas shortage during the upcoming festive season the chairman of the Litro Gas Company Muditha Peiris has stated .

There was a shortage of Litro Gas  in the country in recent weeks .

All Government Schools Closed Today (02) For A Short Vacation

All government and government approved Schools in the country have received holidays today (02) to mark the end of the second term of  schools according to the Ministry of Education .All these schools are due to be opened for the third term next Monday (05) the Ministry has stated .

Again all the schools will receive Christmas holidays on 22nd of December and will be opened for the next term on 02nd of January . 

Two Persons Including A Russian Female Had Died Due To Vehicle Collision

 Two persons including A Russian female and a Three Wheeler driver were killed after the Three wheeler they were traveling in   colliding  with the "Rajarata Manike "Train running from Beliatta(Southern Province to Aburadhapura (North Central Province).at a Railway Unawatuna-Mahramba railway crossing .

The incident had occurred when the Three wheeler driver had attempted to cross the unprotected Railway crossing it has been revealed ,

Cabinett Has Approved Electricity Fare Hike

 Cabinet has approved a Cabinet paper suggesting the increase of Electricity fare by two stages .Accordingly Cabinet has  approved a proposal to increase the Electricity fare in January and June  .

According to the Ceylon Electricity Board officials to cover  up the profit loss of  CEB the Electricity fare need to be increased by  70 percent .

Two Tourism Zones Released From Power Cuts

 There will be no power cut in Southern Province and Ella Tourism Zones with effect from tomorrow(01) according to the Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekate . .

All Tourist zones will be released from Power cuts with effect from 15th of December once the new power unit of the Norochchalai Coal Power Plant will be added to the national power grid  form 15th of December Minister has stated .Thereafter the two hour and twenty minutes  long daily  Power cut schedule  will be reduced to one hour it has been reported .
