Prices Of Auto Diesel And Kerosene Oil Had Been Increased

 The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) had increased the prices of a liter of  widely used Auto diesel and Kerosene oil by Rs.15 and Rs.25 respectively with effect from midnight last night (11) .kerosene subsidy: After diesel and LPG, government to now end subsidy on  kerosene - The Economic Times

With this price increase the new price of a Liter of Auto Diesel will be Rs.430 and a Liter of Kerosene Oil is Rs.365.Earlier government has announced both Auto Diesel and Kerosene oil are being sold at a loss .

Meanwhile Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC ) too had announced they have increased the prices of Auto diesel and Kerosene oil by the same price as Ceypetco with effect from midnight tonight .

Eight And Half Hour Water Cut To Be Implemented In Gampaha District Tomorrow (13)

 An eight and half hour long water cut is scheduled to be implemented in Paliyagoda ,Wattala areas and in surrounding areas at Gampaha District (Western province) from 8.30 a.m tomorrow (13) according to National Water Supplies and Drainage Board (NWSDB).12-hour water cut in several parts of Colombo - NewsWire

Accordingly this water cut will be imposed in Paliyagoda,Wattala,Ja-Ela ,Katunayake ,Seeduwa Urban Council area ,Kelaniya ,Biyagama,Mahara ,Dompe ,Katana ,Minuwangoda local government council  area and Gamapaha Local government  council  area due to the halting of water supply to Biyagama water refinery as a result of the power cut implemented in Sapugaskande area.


Police Arrested Five Protesters Who Have Demanded The Relaese Of Detained IUSF Convener

Panadura South  Police have today (12)  arrested five protesters including two females who had  participated in a protest march held demanding the release of two detained activists of Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) at Kalutara Bridge CTU to march in protest today - Ceylon Today

The detained females had participated the protest march by holding  placards with the photos of detained convener of the Inter University Students Federation Wasantha Mudalige and convener of Inter University Bhikku Federation Venerable Galwewa Siridhamma thero and demanding their release .Police officers had made several attempts to turned away the protest march but they have failed to do so it has been reported ,

Police have later released the five detainees on Police bail .

Supreme Court Had Issued A Court Order Directing IUSF Convener To Produce Before A Magistrate

 The Supreme Court had today (10) ordered the relevant authorities to produce the convener of the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF)  Wasantha Mudalige who was arrested under the terrorism prevention act , before a Magistrate ,Court Order Stock Illustrations – 7,914 Court Order Stock Illustrations,  Vectors & Clipart - Dreamstime

Supreme Court has also ordered the authorities to produced Wasantha Mudalige before the judicial medical officer in Karapaitiya teaching hospital .The petition filed at the court by Mudalige challenging his detention is scheduled to be taken up for hearing on 31st of January it has been announced.
