Ceypetco Said Enough Stocks Of Petrol And Diesel Are Available

 Although there are long queues in front of the Fuel stations Island wide to purchase fuel these days  ,The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) has today (28) announced it has sufficient stocks  of Petrol .Diesel and Kerosene Oil for distribution to fuel stations .


Therefore Ceypetco has requested the public not to panic over the fuel shortage rumors' spreading in social media networks these days .However Private Oil Bowsers Association had announced there's a severe shortage of fuel in the country and the  Ceypetco had failed supply the required stocks of Petrol and Diesel for many Fuel stations in the country .


Power Cut For Today (28) Had Been Reduced To One Hour

 As the broken Generator attached to Norochchalai Power plant has been repaired and added to the National Power grid and the lack of power demand ,the time period of daily power cuts has been reduced to one hour today (28) according to the Chairman  of Public Utilities Commission Janaka Ratanayake has stated.





The time period for daily power cuts for this week will be announced after concerning the 300 mega watts generated by the repaired generator attached to the Lakavijaya Power plant in Norochchalai area the Commission had stated 

However Public Utilities Commission had later announced a three hour long power cut for tomorrow (29) . 

Water Board Announced The Increase Of Water Fare

 National Water Supplies and Drainage Board (NWSDB) had decided to increase the water bill by 130 percent with effect from 01st of September .


According to the new Water fare  increase the minimum amount of   water units can be used by a consumer is 05 units and the water fare of that number of units has been increased from Rs.123 to Rs.448 ,

Airport Customs Arrested Five Sri Lankans With A Stock Of Illegal Cigarette Cartons

 The Airport Customs officers had yesterday (26)arrested five Sri  Lankans who were arrived im Sri Lanka from Dubai via Muscat City in Oman with a stock of illegal cigarette sticks in procession worth around Rs one million .



The stock of 810 Cigarette cartons taken in to custody in procession of the suspects had secretly stored inside their  luggage's according to the customs officers, The five suspects who are residents of Maligawatte in Colombo ,.Moratuwa and Chilaw  areas  were arrested when attempting to leave the Airport  .

Airport Customs officers are currently working on to confiscate the stock of Cigarettes taken in to custody and impose fines to the suspects . 

Former MP Ranan Ramanayake Accepted A Goodwill Ambassador Post

 The Actor turned Politician Ranjan Ramanayake who was released from the Prison on a Presidential Pardon yesterday (26) has accepted a Goodwill Ambassador Post offered to him by the Government to Promote welfare of the Foreign employees it has been reported.


Ramanayake who is former MP attached to the Opposition Samagi Janabalawegaya (SJB) Party had been released on Presidential Pardon yesterday  whilst serving a four year Prison sentience over the charges of contempt of court .

The Former   MP  had received a conditional pardon from the President Ranil Wikramasinghe it has been revealed.
