Govt .Employees To Work From Home From Next Monday

Government Employees are to be work from home for a two week period from next Monday  Due to the fuel shortage and Transport difficulties occurred as a result Government has announced .




A Public circular had been issued today (17) in this regard directing state institution heads to call a limited number of Employees to work whilst others are encouraging to work from home to save fuel .A decision regarding how the schools will be functioned from next Monday scheduled to be taken tomorrow (18).

One nd Half Years Old Child Had Died After Falling Into A Cess Pit

 One and half year old infant lived in Panadura area(Colombo District ) had died after falling in to a Cess pit it has been reported .


The incident had occurred when the  child was playing with his two elder sisters and other children in the backyard of the house .The child was rescued, But died     whilst on the way to Panadura Base hospital it has been revealed .

A Sixteen Hour Long Water Cut To Be Implemented In Colombo -05 And Colombo -06

A Sixteen hour long water cut is scheduled to be implemented in Colombo -05 and Colombo -06 from 10 p.m tomorrow (18) night until 3 p.m on this Sunday due to an urgent maintenance work sewage pipe line in Greater Colombo area according to National Water Supplies and Drainage Board .


During this Water cut water will be supplied to Colombo -04 with low pressure the Board has announced ,

Government Had Given A Chance For Private Suppliers To Import Petrol And Diesel

 To ease the current fuel shortage faced by the Country Government had allowed two private companies to Import Diesel and Petrol to Sri Lanka the Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekare has announced.




Another private supplier had been given a chance to Import Crude oil and Minister has stated ,These suppliers are from  Middle  East, India ,Malaysia and Singapore he has stressed during a Media Briefing held in Colombo today (16).

The Government has decided to import 50,000 Metric tons of Rice under the Indian Credit line it has been announced.
