Prime Minister's S Office To Cut It's Expenditure

 Prime Minister Ranil Wikramsingfhe's Office had decided to cut down the monthly expenditure of the office for the month of June by 50 percent due to the current economic crisis .

According to the Prime Minister's secretary Saman Ekanayake Prime Minister Wikramasinghe wants other state institutions to follow this procedure due to the economic crisis .Prime Minister had transfer 26 employees recruited to Prime Minister 's office from other institutions .Prime Minister Wikranmainsghe 's office had handed ov
er 16 vehicles brought from other institutions .

Two MP's And Three Persons Attached To Provincial Councils /Urban Council Arrested Over Attacking Protesters

 The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) had arrested two Parliamentarians Former state Minister Sanath Nishnatha and Milan Jayathilake this evening (17) over attacking the protesters  held protests in front of Prime Minister's official residence "Temple Trees " and Gotagogame in Galle face green last Monday (09) .


They are due to be given  statements to the CID regarding the assault over protesters it has been revealed .Meanwhile CID officers had arrested three persons including tow   former Provincial councilors and a urban council worker over the assault over the protesters and they were remanded after being produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate .

CID officers have arrested them last night .

Attorney General Has Ordered Officials To Arrest 22 MP's/ Social Activists Over Assaulting Protesters

 Attorney General Sanjay Rajarathnam has today (16) ordered the Inspector General Of Police (IGP)   and Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to arrest the 22 persons including MP's who are responsible for  assaulting protesters at Go Gota  home and Myna Gohome villages last Monday(09) and produce them before court .


Former Ministers Johnston fernando ,Sanath Nishntha and Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG) Deshbandu Thennakoon are among those who are ordered to arrest  it has been reported  .However Court has earlier banned  former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe from going abroad over involved in attacking the protesters ,



Two Ships Carrying Gas Due To Be Arrives In The Country Tomorrow (17 ) And Day After

 Two ships carrying stocks of Gas are scheduled to be arrived in the country tomorrow (17) and the day after (18) according to the Litro Gas Company ,


Accordingly a ship carrying 3700 metric tones of Gas is scheduled to be arrived in the island tomorrow and a payment of US Dollars 7 million is due to  be payed for those two ships by tomorrow the chairman of the Litro Gas company Vijitha Herath has stated .

From Wednesday 80,000 Gas cylinders per day are scheduled to be distributed among consumers daily he has stated ,

 Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) only has a stock of Petrol sufficient for a day at present Newly appointed Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has stated today (16) .


Addressing the nation regarding current economic crisis faced by the nation Prime Minister Wikramasinghe has stressed  that currently diesel is out of stock in the country ,But from today (16) public will get some concession on that ."Two ships carrying stocks of Diesel are scheduled to be arrived in the country on 18th of May and 01st of June under the Indian credit line  ,Also another two ships carrying stocks of petrol are scheduled to be arrived on 18th of May and 29th of May ,Due to the fuel shortage there might be power cuts long as 15 hours in future " he has stated .
