More Than 2000 Trade Unions To Launch An Island wide Strike and Hartal Campaign

 More than 2000 Trade unions representing State sector ,Semi State sector and Private sector employees are scheduled to be launched an Island Wide strike and a Harthal campaign  tomorrow (06) demanding the government including the President and Prime Minister to step down from power .


Accordingly Health ,Education ,Transport ,Postal ,Ports ,Estate, Banks  and various other sector employees are scheduled to be participated in the strike according to the Trade Union Center which organized this Strike and Hartal campaign .

Fuel Supply Again Restricted

 The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) had again restricted the quantity of Fuel issued to vehicles due to the fuel shortage prevailing in the country it has been announced .


Accordingly a Motor Bike will  receive Rs,2000 worth fuel at once and a Three wheeler will receive  Rs.3000 worth fuel and Cars,Vans and Jeeps with be received Rs.8000 worth fuel at once ,However the commercial vehicles including Lorries and Buses are not fallen into this category

Police Had Removed Police Trucks And Busses

Police had removed the Buses and Police trucks parked at the pavement in front of Prime Minister's official residence "Temple Trees "today (04) accordance to the court order issued by Colombo fort magistrate it  has been reported .


Afterwards protesters who are being protested in front of Temple Trees " urging Prime Minister to step down..had  removed the tents they have fixed in the area declared as "MINAGO GAMA " The protest in front of temple trees continues further it has been revealed .

14 Youth Protestors Had Arrested Whilst Protesting At The Parliament Entry

 Fourteen youth including three females were arrested today (04) by the Thalangama Police whilst protesting against the government near Parliament entry at Battaramulla .


A Tense situtaion has occurred in the area when the Police suddenly arrested the group of  youth protesters this noon .However they were released on bail this evening after been produced before Kaduwela Magistrate Court. Around  200 lawyers  had voluntarily faced behalf of the proteusters .

Public had protested  in front of Maharagama police this noon against arresting a group of youth protested against the govt.

Another 40,000 MT Of Petrol Arrived In Colombo Harbor-Fuel Shortage Still There

 An Indian  Ship carrying 40,000 metric tones of petrol with courtesy from Indian government  had arrived in Colombo harbor today (04) according to the Indian Embassy in Colombo .


Indian government so far had provided  440,000 metric tones of fuel from  various verities  to Sri lanka   to ease the current  economic crisis the Indian high commission in Colombo had announced ,

However Petrol shortage  prevails in the country today as well and long queues had seen in front of Many fuel stations in the country .
