Former Deputy Central Bank Governor Accepted The Central Bank Governor Post

 The Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank Dr.Nandalal Weerasinghe had arrived in the country  from Australia this evening  (07) to accept the post of Colombo Central Bank Governor it has  been reported ,


President Gotabhaya Rajapakshe had appointed Dr Weerasinghe as the new Governor of the Central Bank this evening (07).Former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivad Cabraal had resigned from the Post few days ago  due to the Current economic crisis  .

Private Buses Will Not Operate On Next Monday And Tuesday -Private Bus Owners

Private Buses will not  be operated during next Monday and Tuesday due to the Diesel Shortage faced by the Country according to the Private Bus Unions 


Special Bus services scheduled to be operated for the benefit of those who are going to their villages during this weekend also stopped as a result of the Diesel shortage the Unions have stated. Due to this situation  only one fifth or less then 4000 Private buses were operated during today it has been revealed ,
Intercity Bus services are also affected due to the Diesel shortage  the President of the Ceylon Private Bis Owners Association Gamunu Wijerathna has stated .

Government Declared Next Monday And Tuesday As Govt.Holidays

 Government had declared next Monday (11) and Tuesday (12) as Government holidays  prior to the Sinhala and Tamil New year holidays (13 th and 14th ) amidst the nationwide protest campaigns organized by public against the economic crisis and the government .

The Secretary to the Ministry Of Public Administration J.J Rathnasiri 
had today (07) issued a gazette notification regarding declaring two new holidays .

President Gotabhaya Rajapakshe Will Not Resign -Minister Johnston Fernando

 President Gotabhaya Rajapakshe will not resign from his post despite the demonstrations staged against him Government Minister of Highways Johnston Fernando has told iu Parliament today (06).


May I remind you that 6.9 million people voted for the president," Highways Minister Johnston Fernando said in parliament in response to criticism from the opposition and cries of "Go home Gota."

"As a government, we are clearly saying that the president will not resign under any circumstances. We will face this." Minister fernando has stated .

SLFP MP's Refused To Accept Cabinet Portfolios In Present Government

 The 14 MP's representing the Sri Lanka Freedom Partty (SLFP) Who became an independent group in the Parliament yesterday (05) had rejected the President Gotabhaya Rajapakshe's request to accept Ministerial  Portfolios in the new Cabinet according to the Senior Vice President of SLFP MP Nimal Siripala De Silva.



SLFP MP Group will remain in the Parliament as an Independent group respecting public appeal  he has stated ,President had requested SLFP MP's to accept Ministerial Portfolios in the Cabinet when they met him yesterday (05).The SLFP Members had requested the President to try to find a solutions for the economic crisis Sri lanka in and amend the 20th Constitution and abolish the Executive Presidency as well  .
