Public Utilities Commission had given permission to the Ceylon Electricity Board to implement a seven and half hour long power cut for tomorrow (02) between 8 a.m to 11 p.m due to the fuel shortage faced by the Electricity Board .
Accordingly 5 hour power cut will be implemented from 8 a,m to 6 p.m and two and half hour power cut is scheduled for 6.p.m to 11 p.m it has been revealed .
Only 914 Corona Positives had been reported in the country today (01) due to the further reduction of the number of PCR and Rapid Antigen tests performed daily according to Epidemiology Unit .
Accordingly with this number the total number of Corona Positives reported so far had been increased to 646,948 the Unit has stated .At the moment 21,612 Corona Positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine Centers and under home care system it has been revealed .
Only 168 Corona positives had been recovered and discharged from hospitals and Quarantine centers today increasing the total number of Corona positives recovered and discharged so far to 609,092 it has been reported.
Yesterday (28) only 5436 PCR Tests and 1873 Rapid Antigen Tests had been performed in the country according to the Health circles .
Another 22 Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (01) ,Increasing the total number of Corona deaths that had been reported so far to 16,244 according to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS) .
Accordingly 11 males and 11 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has announced ,Out of the deceased 19 were over 60 years of age and 02 were belonged to 30-60 year age group and one of the deceased was under 30 years of age it has been revealed .
Due to the Public and Bank holiday falls tomorrow (01) there will be only 03 hour long power cut scheduled to be implemented throughout the island from 8.30 a.m to 5.30 p.m tomorrow according to chairman of Public Utilities Commission Janaka ratnayake.
If there's an excessive power demand a 30 minute long power cut will be implemented tomorrow night according to reports .

If there's a short supply of Diesel further .Private Buses will not run tomorrow according to the Private Bus Owners .Long queues had been seen in front of Fuel stations in Colombo and outstation areas today (28) to collect Diesel as there's a short supply it has been reported .
Meanwhile the Fuel stations run by Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (Ceypetco) are being taken steps to issue Diesel and Petrol to motorists on limited basis due to the fuel shortage faced by the Corporation at present ,
The Sri Lanka Transport Board had taken steps to issue Diesel to Private Buses through their deports according to State Minister Of Transport Dilum Amunugama .
