Government Had Restricted School Holidays In December To Four Days

Government has decided to restrict the School Holidays for the upcoming festive season to just four days according to the Ministry Of Education .

Accordingly School Children will receive 23rd ,24th ,25th and 26th of December as Holidays for the Christmas season and Schools will be reopened for studies again from 27th of December the Ministry has stated .

The decision to restrict school holidays for the festive season was taken as schools in the country had been closed for more than a year due to the Corona pandemic

Another 26 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (26)

A total number of 26 Corona Deaths had been reported in the country today (26)Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 14,248 acording to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).

Accordingly 16 males and 10 females had died due to Corona infection the DGHS has añnounced .Out of the deceased 22 were over 60 years of age and 03 were belonged to 30-60 age group .

One of the deceased was under 30 years old it had been reported .

714 Corona Positives Reported Today (26)

Another 714. Corona Positives had been reported in the country today (26)Increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far to 561,059accotding to Director General Of Health Services (DGHS).

At the moment 17,995 Corona positives are being treated at Hospitals ,Quarantine centers and under Home care system the Unit has stated .

Air Mailed Narcotic Parcels Found In Central Mail Exchange

Officials attached to Anti Narcotic Unit iof Sri Lanka customs had tofay (25) taken into custody 10 air mailed parcels containing a stock of cannabis variety "Kush " narcotic weighing 1.3 Kilo grammes Central mail exchange ,Colombo .

These 10 parcels were air mailed from USA Canada ,Italy and England to fake addresses in Ahangama ,Kandy and piliyamdala areas it has been revealed The stock of narcotic recovered from these parcels is worth around Rs.20.million according to officials .

Custom officials had opened these parcels as no one came to collect those to the Central mail exchange .

Anti police narcotic Bureau is carrying out further investigrations in this regard .
