Health Authorities had isolated 16 Grama Niladari Sewa Divisions (Rural Development Officer Areas ) in 05 Districts since this morning (10) due to the surge of Corona Infections .
Accordingly 16 Grama Niladari Sewa Divisions bonging to 08 Police divisions in Gampaha ,Kalutara Ampara ,Ratnapura and Momaragala districts are being isolated with immediate effect .
Sri Lanka had began vaccinating public in Western province with Chinese Anti Corona vaccine -Sinopharm on last Saturday (08) after World Health Organization. (WHO) had approved the vaccine to use in an emergency situations .
Accordingly the Sinopharm vaccine donated by Chinese government had been injected to public in Panadura ,Horana and Colombo City limits during last two days .
China has donated 500,000 Sinopharm vaccine doses to Sri Lanka recently mainly to inject Chinese nationals in Sri Lanka .
WHO had approved the vaccine last Friday to be used in an emergency situations .
Another 15 Corona deaths had bern reported yesterday (09) increasing the total number of Corona deaths to 801 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
Accordingly 10 females and 05 males resided in many. Areas including Colombo -07,Ragama,Babdaragama ,Kuliyapitiya ,Bibile, areas has died due to Covid pneumonia and complications of the non communicable diseases suffered by them Center has stated .
The deceased were of the ages 46-86 years it has been revealed .
A total of 2659 Corona Positives had been reported yesterday (09) increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far in the country to 125,906 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
At the moment 20,642 Corona positives are being treated at Government hospitals and quarantine centers .
Another 1890 Coroma Positives had been reported today (08) in the country ,Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 123,234 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center.
At the moment 19,372 Corona positives are being treated at Government hospitals and treatment centers the Center had stated .
A total of 22 Corona deaths had been reported today (08) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 786 according to National Covid -Prevention Center . This is the highest number of Corona deaths reported in the country on a single day so far according to Center .
Accordingly 16 males and 08 females resided in Colombo district and outstation areas had died due to the Covid pneumonia and complications occurred due to the non communicable diseases they have suffered from the center had stated .
The deceased were of the ages 57-84 years it has been revealed .
