Former State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake was Sentenced To Four Year Rigorous Imprisonment

 Former State Minister And Actor MP Ranjan Ramanayake was sentenced to Four year rigorous Imprisonment. By the Three member Judge panel.of the Supreme Court yesterday (12)over Contempt of Court charges ..


The three member Judge panel comprising of Judges Sisira Abrew ,Vijith Malslgoda and Preethipadman Surasena had delivered it s judgment when the case against MO.Ranjan Ramanayake had taken in to consideration yesterday .

MP Ramanayake had been taken to Welikada Prison soon after the judgment and afterwards transferred to Pallansena Rehabilitation center for Quarantine .








Gangabada Area In Paliyagoda Police Division Had Been Isolated

 Anuwa Watte at Gangabada Rural Development Officers area(Grama Sewa Niladari Wasam) of the Paliyagoda Police Division had been isolated since 6 p.m last evening (12)according to National Covid -19 prevention Center .


The isolation was imposed in this area due to the surge of Corona cases the center has stated. .

584 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Yesterday (12)

 A total of 584 Corona positives had bern reported in the country yesterday (12) increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far from the country to 49,537 according to the Epidemeology Unit


  

Accordingly all these Corona Positives  were close contacts of the previous Corona positives belonging to Minuwangoda ,Paliyagoda and Prisons Corona clusters the Unit has stated .The total number of Corona positives reported from these clusters had now risen to 45,770, it has been reported .

At the moment 6662 Corona positives are being treated at Government hospitals and treatment centers .


 

Four Corona Deaths Had Been Reported

 Another 04, Corona deaths had been reported in the country today (12) increasing the total number of corona deaths reported so far to 544 according to Director. General Of Health Services. 


Accordingly two males and two females infected with Corona virus had died due to the complications of Non communicable  diseases they have suffered from caused by Corona virus.

The deceased were residents of Colombo -13,Hanwella ,Matale and Wellampitiya areas and of the ages 82,47,84 and 65 years it has been revealed .

766 Corona positives Had Bern Discharged From Hospitals Today (11)

 A total of 766 Corona positives had been discharged from Hospitals and Treatment centers today (11) after full recovery according to the Epidemeology Unit. 


42,091 Corona positives had been discharged from.hospotals and treatment centers so far .




568 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (11)

 A total of 568 Corona Positives had been reported today (11) in the island increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 48,949 according to National Covid -19 prevention center .


According to the Center all these positives were contacts of the previous Corona positives belongs to the Minuwangoda ,Paliyagoda and prisons  corona clusters .The total number of Corona positives reported from these clusters  so far is 45,186 .

At the moment 6626 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals and treatment centers 



Another 08 Corona Deaths Had Been Reported Today (11)

 Another 08 Corona Deaths had been reported today (11) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported. So far to 240 according. To the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Asela Gunawardana .


Accordingly 06 male and 02 Female Corona positives had died due to the complications of the non communicable diseases they have suffered from Dr.Gunawardane has stated .

The deceased were of the ages 52,61,45,36,51,70,67 and 57 and resided at Rajagiriya ,Colombo -14,Colombo -12,Mattakkuliya Bandaragama ,Southern Kalutara and Katthankudy areas .One of the deceased was a prison inmate at Welikada Prison .
